However the Eye of Stefan shall remain on this thread for further developments...

as possibly the only steam punk in Adelaide, I would like to say hey!
No more, m'dear. I'm not quite from Adelaide, but I think an hour's drive south of it is close enough to qualify as being in the general area. Glad to hear I'm not the only one here!

technically I am from Elizabeth, but I prefer not to be associated with the people that come from this most disreputable town of imbeciles. But hooray! I am no longer alone. Be warned, I have claimed South Australia as my own, and have pronounced myself Queen.

I think I'll just keep trying to synthesize water from air - that is where true power lies in Adelaide. Mwahahahaha.

Erm, the only decent source of hydrogen in the air is...
Water vapour.
Making synthesis of water from air mad science if I ever saw it.

McLaren Vale ? Gives you an hour to get into the city at a leisurely pace! Greetings and Salutations! As the second (Third?) Steampunk to join this Goggle (Fleet, coggle.. whatever) from the Capital of this here Terra Australis Incognita.. I thought I'd throw my hat in and introduce myself.
Fourth I think, but the other two are quiet - unless they are off at the burlesque theatre again! I was thinking of having a steampunk formal dinner at some point, but the only options locally with a suitable ambiance are a bit pricey - the Ottoman in Barton (very nice though) and the Green Herring. Mainly as a lure to get some more of my friends into the idea of steampunk. So far the only one who's keen is my mum, and she's a mad archaeologist... I'll post more in due course, when I stop being slack. Be warned, I have claimed South Australia as my own, and have pronounced myself Queen.
Cor, bless you, yer Maj!

McLaren Vale ? Gives you an hour to get into the city at a leisurely pace! Hindmarsh Island, near Goolwa, near Victor Harbor...it's the big island at the bottom of the lower lakes. An hour's drive is on a good day actually, when I'm doing 100 the whole way and there's no hold ups. It's usually an hour and a half, or two hours if the freeway's closed. Not really much reason to go into Adelaide most of the time though, I can do better shopping online.

Hex asked if the meeting in Sydney had been postponed?
I offer this as a future event:
Shalako-Lin and I shall organise a steampunk themed weekend in the Blue Mountains in the summer months.
We will investigate suitable locations and decide on either a picnic or lunch/dinner/supper at one of the Victorian era hotels.
Cheers: Jaq and Shalako.

You lot try and tell me I'm not alone. I'm in Queensland, Mackay to be precise. This place is absolutely terrible for shopping and I think I've been to every second-hand and op-shop there is. Hardly a useful object, but there are two places that I am hopeful of. I aspire to meet my good friends cousin who collects all manner of things, and I am told that he has a clean out every so often. Someone to become friends with methinks. She tells me that we would get along like a house on fire. (That is if burning houses is a hobby...) I do see someone (chironex) from the 'Ville, Greetings! At least you all seem to be in an area with some population. I am stuck here in the wilds of Western Australia. Ah well, at least there is a river here.

I have news, someone from the WA Costumer's Guild has just asked me to help out with Steamy kit for the Con in Jan. I am going to be a busy girl.
