Lucretia tried to speak but her words failed her. Instead she kissed him and held on. "You are too damned good." She whispered burying her head in his chest. Lucretia had been loyal because of contracts and money but now, with Dee, she would stay with until death out of loyalty that came from the heart.

Fetch actually saluted, but before he left, he closed the office door and said, quietly, to the chief, "I do not know who is orchestrating these hits, but there are too many, and too many people from the old 'daily bread' assassins that I used to associate with, who are being hired for the job.  Bounty and mercenary killers from the Tong to the gutter knife-stabbers are all getting in on the act; the one thing all of them seem to have in common is a certain penchant for method, and a desire for honor. Shou the Pantheress, the woman who tried to kidnap Una tonight, mentioned honor and money before she died. If we follow the money, and use 'honor' as an indicator, we should find the culprit, or at least his accomplice."

He sighed heavily. "I do not want to say so, since it is, as Trapper would say, 'a long shot,' but it all sounds very much like an associate with whom I once worked, who came here on special assignment from a mafia type of organization in the United States, a New York, uh, cartel, of sorts, if you will. It probably is not him, but it all sounds very similar to the way that they would at east begin a series of strategic hits."

That had been the Hit on Marcus Macphileas, or Green Mac, as he had come to be called, for his seemingly magical run of good fortune at counterfeiting. His death at Fetch's and the mafioso's hands (beginning with hundreds of hits by smalltime, hired-on-the-spot 'gutterplugs,' as the mafioso had called them), despite his in-depth cadre of defense specialists, was still whispered about among the professional assassins of the City. Fetch had in his turn gathered a great deal of knowledge about the mindsets of the American hitmen and how they commonly operated, and honor (or at least the criminal equivalent of such) tended to be a major motivator for them.

Fetch so saying then saluted again and exited the room in his own fashion, namely by simply ceasing to be there, and was in his room gathering his few items and shuttling them to the room indicated. it only took two trips, and he was moved in. He crossed through the bathroom, and despite the medtech's objections, pulled up a chair and sat by Una's bedside holding her hand  and waiting for her to regain consciousness. he kept the antidote kit, and after awhile offered its contents to the medtech. "This is the antidote for Shou's dart mixture, " he said, holding a tiny blue-glass vial with an eyedropper cap, filled with dark liquid. "You might make a solution of it and distribute it to anyone else who was hit by one of her darts."

The medtech was half scared of Fetch. The last thing he needed was the ninja deciding he wasn't taking care of his lady right. He was quite happy to give her a few drops and then leave to get some water for her, Una shuddered braking out in a sweat.  "No I don't want to go back!" She shot up in bed heart pounding. She was still half in dreams.

Dee held his woman close and comforted her as best he knew how. Soft emotions were foreign to him but he did his best for  her. He was coming to understand this thing called love slowly but surely.

It took a long time for her to speak. This was comfortable and warm.  Lucretia was happy and felt very safe for the first time in ages.  "Thank you." She looked younger and soft. "Tomorrow we need to call on your uncle.  We have to find out why every damned thug in the city is going after Una. If they have a mole inside of our organization it wont go well for them."

Fetch took hold of and gently held Una, Saying, "It's all right, Una, you're safe now and with people who love you. Just lean on me and take a few breaths, that's it, just breathe. It was just a dream caused by Shiu Shou's dart coating. You'll be alright soon, the antidote is made from the same stuff and reverses the effect. You'll be right as rain soon, I promise."

"I couldn't get out of the white room and he was smiling from the door. I couldn't see his face but I know he was.  They were dragging me away back underground." Una shuddered and was glad of the window she could look out on the city from.  It reminded her that she was no longer buried.  She burrowed in to his shoulder,Fetch smelled nice and he was warm.  "i have read about nightmares but never had one before.  That was very unpleasant."

Dee leaned down and bit Lucretias neck playfully before saying " Before we do that we need to get our own house in order. First g in the Morning i want the word put out to every pimp dealer and street thug offering a huge damn reward for some certain heads. " He crawled on top of her and started ragging her clothes off with his teeth

"I'll show you a fire little girl." Dee teased as he quickly made his way down her body biting and kissing, elliciting sigh and moan. "As many cops as we have in our pocket theres no way we dont have a few moles of our own. we must find and either remove them or feed them false information." he stopped his attentions for a second, long enough to add "speaking of which, that is a rather cute place to have a mole" he laughed quietly and returned to lavashing his attention on her with his mouth.

Fetch held Una close and kissed her forehead. As he did so, something deep within him...twanged. It was as if a hand had reached forth from her heart to his and plucked a musical string. With that vibration came the recognition that something deep within the girl resonated with something extremely similar deep within himself, and that that part of himself was the same from which those abilities and proclivities of the darkest, most arcane type originated, the same part which, with the same kind of twang, was altered so long ago in the first of the rituals that resurrected his spirit from before the very gates of death.

A thought occurred to him; She needed to be able to protect herself. Her similarities to him cropped up in his mind again, then. If she were taken, having a few discovered abilities might be the the difference between her survival and her demise. But did he dare to do what his heart was telling him to do? She might not survive the becoming, but she might also not survive if she were taken. He reached his decision, and reached back out to Una's heart, and concentrated on twanging a counterpart of his own heartstring. He hugged her close again, then, and relaxed somewhat, and inwardly let go of the inner contact. If the attempt was successful, she should begin showing the symptoms in a couple of minutes, hours, or days; probably a bit of nausea or lightheadedness.

"The Chief has assigned you to research the Library for information about the Golden Gun and what its history an dfunction were or are, and me to watch over you while you do so. We are not to leave the tower until this case is resolved, and the Chief deems it safe for you to do so. I would suggest also that we not go down to the Garage or Duty Suite unless absolutely necessary. Practically anyone can get in there, after all; they have to be able to, so that the Justices can handle walk-in cases." He took a breath, bracing for the storm that might result from what he planned to say next. "Una, what abilities do you think you've gained from the Bluelight?"

"You have a way of finding all the little places that make me melt."  Lucretia nuzzled his neck. "We should put out bait about Una and see what pops up." The simplest way to find information in the underworld was have it come to you.

Una thought about this. If she had a more developed view of what was normal this would be simpler. "I heal well and I look young, I am good at shooting tho that may be some sort of memory the body has instead of my head."  She paused for a moment going carefully through her memories. Una was not the quickest thinker on her feet but she was very through.  "And a day or so ago I made the vending machine give justice Jessica cupcakes by talking to it."  She was unsure if that was a power or not. Una was also wondering if the fact it gave her treats whenever she said hello to it was something to mention or something that might get her in to trouble.  It wasn't really stealing if the machine gave her those lemon cakes she liked without her even touching it was it?  Una leaned against him feeling a bit worried and dizzy.

Fetch heard Una say that she had talked a vending machine into giving cupcakes to Jessica, and then go suddenly silent, and lean into him as if looking for protection or support. He leaned her way in response, and thought about her words. He made an intuitive leap, realizing the girl must have used this newfound ability to rapport with machines to her own ends - but was it intentionally or by accident? "Mmm-hmm." he murmured. "And did the machine also give you things? It sounds like you might have received  a rapport with machines, but quite a bit beyond what the monster pilots tend to develop; That's why they're monster pilots, you see. I've never heard of a pilot cadging treats from a vendamat before, though," he chuckled. Still, that could prove to be extremely useful. He thought silently a minute, suddenly becoming curious about several things. "Let me see..." he looked around the room, and spied a small wireless receiver on the desk against the wall. "Aha. Can you make that wireless over there turn on, and find a station, without touching the unit?"

Dee nodded his head in affirmation as he slid back up her body and began tickling her ruthlessly. "We also need an update on our legal laz project and from our research team over their findings on fetch and Una. " his tickling became firmer caresses and bites.

"I can try I think."  She thought about the music she heard in the street and how she wanted to dance with Fetch.  Una asked it to pretty please play something for them to dance to. It was always good to be polite. Her mouth moved but nothing he could see came out. Soft music slowly rose from the wireless.  It was unlike the street music there were more sounds in it making it complex.  She nodded in time to the music as the volume climbed to a good volume.  "Sometimes when I am close to the walls I can hear voices through them. but not of people that are anywhere near.  In fact right now if I try hard I can hear the Chief speaking to the builders about improving the communications system."

"I can call in the lab first thing tomorrow." Lucretia's giggles trailed off in to more deep rough sounds. "You tease me so." She pouted in-between rumbles from Dee.

"So, you can hear through the wires in the wall, apparently. That and your machine affinity could prove very useful. Now, there's one more thing; are you able to do anything offensively? like, for example, making something move fast enough to injure someone or damage an object? without touching it or only indirectly touching it, I mean. It might be accessible through the wireless skill..." Fetch hated this part. Master had dome much the same with Fetch, but he had already had the killer instinct pretty much hardwired into him. Fetch hated the thought that he might be corrupting such a sweet, caring person as Una into a killer, perhaps even a monster like himself - but it was necessary to teach her to defend herself, and her own innate abilities would serve her well, and better than a blade that could be lost or a gun that could run out of energy or ammunition. He told her so.

"Don't worry if you can't; your other abilities can be adapted to the same purpose," he added, "But I think you should try anyway." He kissed the top of her head. "I love you no matter what happens," he said, and cuddled her a little.

Una frowned she didn't want to let Fetch down but she was unsure of how to do it. She touched the wall and thought. There was something in the ceiling something hidden.  "I am going to try something. Stay still for a moment."  This was going to be tricky. She pressed her forehead in to the wall and talked for five min. Then all of a sudden the lights blinked off and a yellow spinning light popped out of the ceiling and it was followed by an older model beam cannon that trained on Fetch.  It was an old security system that no one knew what was left from the time of the Emerald Doctor. "I told it not to fire and I think it is listing."

"Is it acquiescing or arguing with you?" Fetch said, not moving, but staring up at the cannon from under his brows, the old, slippery-smooth feeling of a body accustomed to killing and preparing to do so once again, and liking it, filling him. Deadly intent filled him, and his eyes actually began to turn black, whites and all. If teh thing began firing, whoever was controlling it would find out exactly why some people misunderstood and called him 'vampire.'

"I can take it out in a trice, if you wish, or if you can truly tame and control it, it might turn out to be an asset," he said evenly, but with a voice as deadly as a snake preparing to strike, yet still full of concern and love for Una.

"It keeps wondering why I am not male. It won't disobey me but it moves rather slow.  I think it is old."  She looked up at it wonderingly. Una stepped away from the wall until only her fingers were touching.  Una started bobbing her head and the blaster danced along with her.  "Look what I can do!"

Inside the the somewhat cloudy sky that seemed to loom over Progress City, an airship was flying itself slowly toward an elaborate docking station that was ordained with gilded cogs and almost Gothic statues of angels that seemed to greet with open arms the new arrivals toward this city. Inside the airship were various men and women of social standing, draped in their dapper charms and for the women dressed in astute allure. Amongst them which seemed to generate some air of rumors was a man dressed in a red shirt and a black buttoned vest, rugged boots upon his feet, a six shooter by his hip, a grey cowboy hat and a bandana mask with ornate patterns. The man seemed to stick out like a sore thumb but yet here he was upon this airship.

"We will soon be arriving at Progress City, please make sure all baggage's are claimed and proceed in an orderly fashion." came a voice from an intercom like system. The mysterious man simply got up and walked toward a window of the ship, gazing at the city. " This city is bloody." he thought to himself as the ship slowly began to dock and people began to leave the ship.

The harness bull* on duty noticed the conspicuously-attired man among the rest of the disembarking passengers. Dock Officers were issued Perspeks (a City-made improvement on the popular Kodak box cameras) to photograph suspicious or notable-appearing departures, arrivals, and troublemakers. The Cowboyish fellow was not precisely a threat (everybody carried firearms and other weapons in Progress City, from boot daggers to horrifically-powerful rayguns), but the appearance of such a getup was still uncommon; he might be a professional hit artist from the States, and such were being scrutinized just now - so the harness bull officer took the picture, advanced the film, and forgot about the matter other than to note it on his report sheet. "Welcome to Progress City! Move along to Customs, please," he called out over the heads of the debarking passengers.

--------------------
Fetch grinned, and the blackness mostly left his eyes, though it was still discernible, lurking in the corners and in the edge of the Irises, as he clapped in time to Una's and the cannon's movements.

Down in the makeshift duty room in the garage area, a light on the panel moved and set up temporarily on the duty sergeant's desk lit up. It had never lit up in the current sergeant's tenure, nor that of his predecessor, but both had been briefed as to it's significance. "Good Green Meanies, the old Emerald System's up and running!!" He cut in to the intercom system, slicing straight through a routine broadcast about trash receptacle locations, loudly announcing, "ATTENTION! EMERALD PROTOCOL! ALL SECTIONS REPORT EMERALD SYSTEM INCURSIONS! REPEAT..." He repeated the message three times.

As the mysterious new arrival made his way from the ship and upon hearing the command about moving to customs, he obliqued the request and walked towards that area, his spurs jingling with every slow step he took. His senses were taking in every little bit of information from his surroundings. The sight of cigar smoke from an elder gentleman with the intoxicating aroma of French perfume on his daughters neck, the various accents that flowed like rivers, and even the clothing was analyzed by the newcomer. "I need to find a bar, or find where a hunters guild is around here." he thought to himself as he made his way to customs and the long wait of going through it.

"Looks like I'll be going to the bar first." he groaned to himself as the wait began.
