Hello all :-) .. Colonel Harry "Wolfgrin" Harlot at your service :-) (screen name yet to be changed .. kruki99 is my pseudonym to keep the Barsoomian Authorities at bay for just a little while longer ... lol)

This is my first hands-on foray into Steampunk construction, after having been an ardent follower for many many ... many years :-)
Over the last 6-8 moths I have, in my spare time been able to accumulated enough wonderfully useful odds and end bits and bobs (mostly old brass junk / tools etc) to tinker some things together in my modest little shed, with albeit some basic hand/power tools ;-) I hope you enjoy.

Martian Katta-Root Pipe - Procured on my last tour of the Red Planet ;-)

The pipe actually simulates smoking without any nicotine by use of one of those electronic cigarettes and a zero nicotine cartridge. It emits glycerol vapour instead :-)

Video footage here of the pipe in action ....

That's really cool. I've been thinking of doing something with those e-cigs for people but I didn't know they created a visible vapor. That's even better.

Which brand are you using? I don't know buch about them at all.

Now that, is an excellent idea. How do you access the e-cig?

Thanks :-)
The trick is to ensure an airtight fit of the upper section of the E-Cig in the mouthpiece.

Don't know about the "Bobby's" over there, but you bring that thing out in public here in the States & you'll definetly be getting a face to face with the Local Law Dogs Grin

Interresting, I was thinking the Cig was near the bottom. How does the smoke travel to the bottom of the pipe as shown in the video?

Hah ! Silly me ! ... I just realised ... I hadnt posted a shot of the pipe in its Mk2 version ! lol

The Pipe in its mk2 version, has a thin sneaky pipey bit that allows some vapour to exit thro the drum cage/bowl section ... Having vapour exude form the cage helps with the realism so it looks more like youre smoking. As in the video ;-)

The vapour is cool. No heat to speak of.  Smiley

Thanks Roz  Smiley
Parts list ... hmm erm lol ... its a bit of a mish mash of what I found on my travels tbh. Every piece I make is a one off  lol
The mouthpiece and tube are from a vintage garden sprayer. the two turned brass sections along the main spout tube are hose connectors. The cylindrical cage/bowl affair is a sump filter from a vintage garden sprayer. The central section that it all connects to is the manifold section of a vintage parafin blowtorch with a variable spray garden hose nozzle cone on the bottom. And a handfull of other bits and bobs fitted on here and there  Smiley
