Beruit and Unto Ashes. I am waiting for an Abney Park cd to come to me in the mail, and I have the Clockwork Cabaret podcast (I recommend it heartily) on my I-steam.

Just wrote an essay while listening to Viral Millennium's 'The Promised Land'.  Has anyone ever tried listening to Moth!Fight! ?  They have a pretty interesting steam-influenced feel (they list 'speculative fiction' as one of their influences).  I like their lighter take on steam-punk music.

Check out www.myspace.com/mothfight if you're interested.

The Mission UK (Children and God's Own Medicine), Bauhaus, Camille Saint-Saens, Unwoman.

...and for obvious reasons, I am listening to Vernian Process' brand new release.

Hmm...I've seen the name angelspit around quite a bit lately so I finally broke down and went to their myspace. And first I though "aw crap, not ANOTHER industrial goth band" -_-
But then I still clicked play and found their not too bad. They def have a different style than the majority of industrial bands.

I've been listening to a lot of Chemical Brothers and a band a friend recommended to me called Shpongle.  Not only do they have a really great name but the music is outrageously good too.

Excellent stuff, haven't managed to catch up in a while, though they did read one of my strange letters out once Smiley

In the car I'm listening to an unabridged audiobook of Dean R Koontz' - False memory

And a very sick story it is too..

But soon I have my Neubauten Collection ready to go and then it'll be time for Coil.

Thanks, you just reminded me to dig out the 'out of light cometh darkness' coil CD than I hadn't put on my computer yet.
Also listening to early Kraftwerk, Mars Lasar, Intermix -Future Primitives, and Massive Attack

I LOVE Shpongle.  I dont know what happened to all of mine, though... oh well.
I've been on an epic folk-punk kick lately, courtesy of my flatmate.  This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Ghost Mice, Captain Chaos (ghost mice solo project)... and of course Neutral Milk Hotel.

Currently I'm listening to a bunch of Indie bands I found via the "Nick and Norrah's Infinite Playlist" soundtrack (which was also a really adorable/feel good movie in the spirit of classic John Hughes):

We Are Scientists
Vampire Weekend
The Dead 60's
The Submarines

I'm also completely addicted to Cut Copy's latest offering.

I swear that album doesn't have a bad song on it, and all of them are insanely catchy.

I've put up a few songs on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/iescapetheclouds. The newest one is "Marrakesh". I don't sing, so they're all instrumental songs.

Lately I've been listening to Rachid Taha, Black Light Burns, Soviet propaganda and folk music from the early 20th century ("Lizaveta" for the win!), Yoshida Brothers, Spearhead, and other assorted things.

Mmmm.... lots of bands listed. I'm gonna have to take some time and check all these out!

My two favourite bands in the whole of the world are Depeche Mode and U2 (and they're both releasing new albums! Yay!). I also like to throw some Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, Kajagoogoo, Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Information Society, and New Order in the mix.  Strangely enough, bands without accents don't get much play. I'll make some room for NIN, Beck, and Ben Folds every now and then, but I really have to be in just the right mood.

I dunno, foreign accents (especially ones from the UK) just really do it for me I guess.

I wish I had the time to devote to song writing/composing. I'd love to get my hands on some Fruity Loops and crank out some tunes, but it's far down on my giant list of things to do!

Oh, and Vernian Project is awesome! I downloaded that new special edition release and haven't been able to let go of it! Now I have to decide who is getting booted from my Zen so I can listen at work!!
