Ooh!  I love the new ones you sent!  It's fun to play around with words. I've been trying out other versions of the ones you sent earlier and came up with a few more, including:

Ms. Arabel Celon Charm
Ms. Arabelle McAnchor
Ms. Arabel Charmoncel
Ms. Clarabel Charmeon

Dr. Noah Lacham Steamclaw
Lord Machana H. Steamclaw
Ardomas Cahhn Metalclaw
ShadoChaarm N. MetalClaw
Lachman  Arc MetalShadow

Thanks again for the ideas!  We're going to our first steampunk event this weekend (a murder mystery masquerade!) and it'll be great to have names to go with!

Hi, Nephele. Been a while! I was chatting with a few people in an IRC room and steampunk names came up, so I was reminded of this thread. Thought I'd stop by.

Anywho, do you think you'd be able to try my name again? I'd just like to see what else you've got up your sleeve. I have a few people with interest in this as well, but I'll submit them later. Thanks.

Hi Nephele (got your private message)....

So, here's my unscrambled name (a little shout out to the NSA).... Emile Cole (an old Druid, artist and tinkerer here in Seattle, which, of course, they already know). No worries about privacy, or any worries at all really.... as a lifelong minimalist and outspoken critic of the United States Government (now conclusively known to be run for decades under the auspices of a secret murderous covert poltical entity), I literally have nothing to hide. And, in addition to that, I owe so much money, somewhere in the neighborhood of $100,000 (nothing I could be prosecuted or imprisoned for, nobody's perfect.... I'm walking proof), I can even post things like my Social Security Number and Birthdate (perhaps numerologically or astrologically it will aid you in the "anagramatic process" if you're into those sorts of things.... Social Security XXX-XX-XXXX, Birthdate 12:03AM, September 17, 1958) with complete confidence and no fear whatsoever.... one couldn't even buy a cheap cigar with my credit!

Anyway, nice to meet you, and looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

MOD EDIT: Normally I don't believe in trying to protect people from themselves, but I have a deeply-ingrained "thing" about SSNs/SINs.

Emile, I'm afraid that's not really a lot of letters for me to work with.  You don't have a middle name?

Anyway, if you're ever in need of an alias, you can have:

Milo Leece
= Emile Cole

Right.... Lorin is my middle name (and I'm a man, this time around anyway), but that's cool what you came up with. I never really thought in terms of anagrams as applied to given names (or, to be honest, anything else really prior to getting your message).... interesting though.

For more anagramatic fodder, we could go with my ancient latin name.... Aemilius Lorentius Caulis (don't remember the Birthdate, and the only Social Security back then was a Gladio, or Roman short sword).

Hah! I won't try saying that fast three times!

curious what you come up with

Well then, let's leave it to Nephele, the Oracle of the Anagram (hey, that has kind of a nice ancient Greek ring to it.... Nephele, the Oracle of the Anagram).

Emile, here you go:

Colonel Eli Mier
= Emile Lorin Cole

Iulus Aemilius Ironcastle
= Aemilius Lorentius Caulis

"...and the only Social Security back then was a Gladio, or Roman short sword."

Haha!   That earns you a bonus, anagrammed Roman name:

M. Meliceus Leo
= Sum Emile Cole ("I am Emile Cole")

M.: customary Roman abbreviation for the praenomen "Marcus."

Meliceus:  nomen gentilicium derived from the Latin word melicus, meaning "musical, lyrical."

Leo:  cognomen, meaning "lion" in Latin.

ewoudo, take your pick:

Drewe O. Proudtoe
Tudor Peerwoode
Peredur Woodtoe

= ordeowrtpeeuod

Olympic! You really are the Oracle!

I like Aemilius Iulus Ironcastle (if one's permitted to mix it up a bit that is), has kind of an Arthurian ring to it.... perfect for an old Druid!

That name is
(Laird) Dalzell Caledon Overshear

Secundary sona is male and probably a kangaroo.

Colonel Ezra L. Haversaddle was commander of the 1st Calvary Brigade of the Rough Riders.  His Brigade once rode with Teddy Roosevelt's (the 2nd Calvary Brigade).

Wasn't there a Haversaddle with the Second Batallion of the 14th Hoof and Mouth Regiment?
