Real Antique Steampunk Clock

I saw this gorgeous antique ca. 1885 clock in the shape of a steam engine on Tumblr. It is being offered by Heritage Auctions out of Dallas, Texas, and will be included in their sale on December 11, 2012.

Description from listing:
Circa 1885 Industrial Series Mechanical Clock Barometer
. The Industrial Revolution not only spawned factories, but was reflected in the decorative arts. This combination clock and barometer is in the form of a boiler or steam engine. A flywheel, pair of pistons and governor go into motion when separately wound. Most of these novelty clocks are attributed to Guilmet of Paris. The dial of this model has the name of the retailer, A. Mucoli & Figlio of Palermo. The red granite base has three cracks. It appears to be complete and both the clock and mechanism winds, but neither works. Once it's repaired and cleaned of surface grime, it should "be ready to go to work" and quite the conversation piece.
Magnificent piece.

Actually, I built that piece next year but accidentally left it behind on a sight-seeing trip to 19th C Mount Etna (checking Prof Lidenbrock's escape route).
What a fabulous clock - it's more Steampunk than Steampunk!

If you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it.

It also gives vendors leeway to charge different prices to different clients without anyone the wiser.
Perhaps I am too cynical.
