it´s a well in Istria, Croatia. it fills in rainy season and stays filled for most of the summer. it is no longer in use, located in the middle of nowhere and the water would be very unhealthy to drink. we only ran into it because we had the GPS coordinates

Yes it is!.. but to be correct the first picture was made in Italy, the second a few kilometres from my home in the Netherlands, and the third is Croatia.

If you like visiting places not everyone visits I can recommend geocaching as a hobby... though caches are everywhere and you might go sliightly suspicious of otherwise normal things like rocks and treelogs.

These items on Magnetic Island aren't entirely abandoned, they are kept in a state of arrested decay as they are in a national park on an official tourist walking track. And the signals tower, fittingly, is a modern communications repeater.

There was just something so simple and appealing about those buildings

There were several main road land marks in Auckland colloquially named after local industrial buildings . Sleepy head , Tip Top , kiwi bacon...

Geocache-ers in Australia tend to be a bit wary of anything that lurks behind rocks or in hollow logs!! Especially if it hasn't any legs, or has 8 legs!

Luckily the worst I encountered geocaching in the netherlands was a nest of mice, though in scotland we found a cache disguised as a wasps nest

That last creature is for dinner tonight. We were driving along the inland route to Roma for my nan's funeral and my middle brother hit one... Hitting such large creatures at highway speeds can totally write off smaller cars.

As a mince, in bolognese (we don't eat roadkill here. Besides they are relatively easy to farm, unlike 'roo.) Those larger creatures do significant damage when hit at highway speeds, so bullbars, nudgebars and smartbars tend to continuously be fitted even though there are actually legal restrictions on them. One guy seems to have had one on his rig earlier this week, as he seems to have deliberately run over several kangaroos in my area. One had to be put down by police, and it was obviously deliberate as he had to leave the road at several points to run them down.
