All your kind words are greatly appreciated.
Things have gone a tad quiet on the construction front whilst I await new bits and bobs to arrive or be sourced. As I said I should know more Monday about what I'm working with next.
Though some of the items are rather simple - adding flickering lights to cabinets and a like - I will endeavour to post the new and interesting ones as I proceed, in this thread.

When all is done and set up I'll get some photos of the sets up here too. Hopefully they'll live up to expectations!

Well that took a boat load of time. One piece took ages to arrive.
But it's done!

I present you the latest finished piece (it's a prop for a show, so finished in the sense it does what the spec said):
The Re-Animator's Refiner...thing!

Made this one from a pre-existing bare wooden box, and two white bookends and the rest I cut and jigged myself, essentially.

Wood, brass, plastics, vintage working ammeter, some switches and a dial, two UV lit tubes (interchangable liquids), lights and shenanigans.

Pottering about today, I made my first "Thing in a jar", of which there'll end up being a few eventually, so thought I'd share.

Finally found a practical use for that old typewriter I restored in making the label!

A couple of pieces in process of construction that're being shared elsewhere as sneak peaks:

This is from "The Pillar" which is essentially a somewhat gothic generator/engine/regulator for an evil surgeon set:

No real paint work's been done yet, nor any of the electrics. A lot to do on this one still.
Fairly simple build (compared to the Chronogulator).

This one will be finished soon - just need to decorate the front (gauge, switches, rotary dial, LEDs) and finish nailing the studs in.
It's a laser projection through liquid - probably for the same set.

The close up detail on the central glass coloumn doesn't have the ring that was later added (in the other photo), which is a sort of wooden porthole.
Glass element can be removed, to allow a UV laser display if wished, if smoke effects are also in play.

Very neat stuff!
I love those knife switches, and the shape of the vial on the last project you posted.

These builds are spectacular!  Please keep up the fantastic work - as well as the picture sharing!

Ah, thanks guys  Cheesy
You've brightened my morning!

Rev - The switches were a bit of luck. I was gonna go with something similar and discovered just before ordering they were tiny! These ones are almost the right colour without any real effort attatched - though to connect them you do need the wires on show, which I'm still umming and ahhing about for now.
But who wants a big impressive switch that's not connected to anything? : o
The large vial was a stroke of luck as well. I was pottering about in town and found it marked down from £20 to £6 >Smiley
Originally I was going to make it a specimen jar, but feel this was more interesting.

H0wb0y - You flatterer! I'll be keeping you all up to date as things go. I'm in an odd position where my work is sometimes stunted due to the noise of hammering or drilling. I have to try and do as much as I can in the morning and get on with gluing and wiring and painting in the evening, so as not to disturb neighbours!

A couple of USB plasma balls and a little plasma disc...thing..arrived today, and they all work on the alternative battery packs I got, so about to embark on putting them together in their places. Will be trying to finish the Vortex Lamp (above) first, though. Stay tuned!

Er . . . . excuse me, did someone just say tiny  knife switches? Perchance you could point me in the right direction if you would be so kind ?

Nice devices by the way, I would like to do something that lights up but alas electrics leaves me baffled. There I have said it, baffled. How embarrassing.

Good sir, I'm most happy to refer you to tiny knife switches, medium knife switches and "large" knife switches (the ones on the pillar up there).

I got these ones (pictured) from eBay, where there is a selection to peruse - mostly Hong Kong based. I did however find them remarkably quick with dispatch and delivery (about a week).
They also appear to now be reduced price.

This, however, was amongst the tiniest - and is UK based!

As for electronics I am consistently baffled by some of the things my wiring has done the second I seal it all up, so sympathise. Sometimes you end up just having to roll with it!

All the best

Here's what I built today.

It's a small wall mounted "Power source". It's for The Pillar (above), but is removable and a seperate circuit to the larger decorational item, so it can be sold or used individually.

It's fairly straight forwards. I wanted a bit more "decoration" but didn't want to detract from what it is. And what it is is essentially a decorative wall mount for a plasma disc (with some tubes and lights).

Well, here's the pic and for a change a clip of it in action!
