This is a wonderful turn of events.  I knew that some people were working on prototypes, I just didn't think anyone was going to take them seriously.

If anyone from the UK wants to paste the link into a US proxy server such as www.uswebproxy.com then you should be able to read it.

Shame so much public funding is being wasted by the various defence departments, it would make more sense for all 3 services to come together and draw up a common specification that can then be put out to tender, not private companies competing against each other for a slice of the defence budget.

(and we wonder why the national debt grows exponentially each year - look at the gazillions of dollars that have been wasted on cancelled outrageous weapons systems - heat rays is one example!)

Brilliant, thanks for the tip!

I am not surprised at the proposed surveillance uses, the cost to our people is always going to be too high and anything that counteracts the use of IEDs is worth it in my book.

One of the big problems with LTA vehicles is that helium still trades at way below its true value but it is a finite resource. One day, in the not too distant future, demand will exceed supply and projects like this will disappear overnight (to say nothing of the true Zeppelin NTs)
