A friend just sent me a link to this artists website, and the moment I looked at it I said to myself "Self, the folks over in Brass Goggles would probably like this." And so, here it is:

http://www.chengguo.co.uk/index.php?/project/mouth-factory/

and the video of the contraptions for those of us who never like to click on web links:

The rest of his art is worth a look as well.

“Can a magician kill a man by magic?” Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. “I suppose a magician might,” he admitted, “but a gentleman never could.”

Huh. Those are actually very cool. I would personally never want to use them, but I applaud the thinking, engineering, and creativity. Hell, as a woodworker myself if I ever (knock on wood) injured myself in an accident and lost the use of my hands I would probably give something like this a try.

I didn't understand the last part.  What was he doing?
Somehow these remind me of an old "You asked for it" show, where a Blind one armed man sclupted his arm.  (Can you guess how he did it?)

I have yet to figure out the last one as well. I believe that it is the "tongue extruder". I would also never want to have to use that item. Just watching him use it started up my gag reflex. It looked like a horrible dentistry machine (no offense to any dentists out there).
