Hello fellow chaps and chapetttes! As an avid freeware game buyer, i have been searching for a free steampunk computer game besides steamband ( a steampunk roguelike  ) Does anyone know if any others? It does not have to be an RPG like steamband, just some good games. Cheers! ~Cpt. Andrew Styles |

There's Argo: http://argo.en.alaplaya.net/They've apparently brought the game down, and it'll start up tomorrow, the 18th, brand new. No idea why since I've been playing The Secret World. There are 2 factions, one is nature/majick based and the other Steampunk/Machine/Guns based. The only problem I had with it (before at least) was classes were gender-specific. It was ok, for a free game. You get an air car/motorbike type thing at one point, and I had a droid running around with me as a pet. I don't remember if it did anything, but it was cute...for a mech  I'm a droid engineer (Star Wars Galaxies) at heart, so forgive me if I call it wrong...they're all droids to me |

If you want a free to play browsergame I can recommend Echobazaar's 'fallen London' (although not expressively steampunk, it does have quite a few steampunk elements.

Oo, thanks, I'd forgotten about that one. As an alternative to DOSbox, GOG.com (linked in my last post) has it updated for compatibility with current versions of windows, and free for download. Ye gods, I'm starting to sound like their PR section...  |

Can you get the launcher to come up? If so, try deleting the cache in the options. Sometimes that helps. I've always been able to play, so I don't know what the problem could be. |
