Found a nice supplier of medieval/piratey/steamy clothes and got hooked by this shirt Smiley It arrived the day before the Abbey Medieval Festival here in Brisbane so I had a quick rummage through the wardrobe for something to go with it. I think with a few accessoried this could be the start of a great steampunk outfit. (My wife donated the scarf for my waist Smiley )

It's a very cool shirt, but it isn't medieval by any stretch of the imagination!

But how many people dress "accurately" at medieval festivals? (speaking as a Tudor-era costumer here Wink )

However, that shirt is fabulous, and is definitely a great start to a pirate / airship pirate ensemble.

Oh like the shirt!  MMmmm.

Oh how my heart beat has quickened: there is nothing like a man in a frilly shirt with big sleeves.  Where is that chaise longue for me to collapse into?  smelling salts, now where are my smelling salts?

This could go right up to early 19th century / Regency.

If medieval is your thing there is the Tewksbury Medieval Festival celebrating the Battle of Tewksbury in 1471. They have about 2.000 re-enactors fighting each other. This year was a bit rough from the weather but there are many traders selling just about everything medieval from swords and armour to knives and forks and lots of clothing, though mainly for the ladies.

Yeah not exactly medieval, but then the festival covered from Viking age to regency :-D
I'm actually looking at joining one of the Viking groups.
I've been to Tewkesbury, it's fantastic, unfortunately it's now on the other side of the world lol so doubt I'll get there again soon...
