Sorry for not acknowledging work and craftsmanship in my previous comment. For this I apologize.
(that's what I get for posting whilst inebriated)

no worries Arvis - I was probably a bit inebriated for most of the making of it - wine in the belly, the smell of hardening resin in the nose, and the whine of a dremel in the ear - what better way to shrug off the cares of the work-day

excellent job, and it's creepy as hell too. only thing I could think of different would be a bigger tube to act as a sort of handlebar moustashe between the filters. even if it was just room inside the mask for a handlebar moustashe. how is your field of view?

Very impressive.

As for the creeptasticness of it, did anyone else see it and immediately think, "Are you my mummy?"

thank you vc - this comment prompted me  to revisit the morph scene where the gas mask grows out of the doctor's mouth (not The Doctor, the other one) and so I'm now trying this idea:

Excellent work.  (I also cannot help to notice a work by my favorite painter: Modigliani, great taste sir!)

For the discerning British officer, a custom gas mask cast from his own face.

Judging by the ensignia, this one was made for a colonel in an Irish regiment...

Correct! on one account
1. Rank of Colonel
The Insignia is of the Royal Irish Regiment (1992) as you can see from this Image:

The Royal Irish Regiment of World War One has the King's Crown (no Harp lady either) . It was disbanded in 1922

Other then that I love it Cheesy

I give you the Royal Irish Rifles with harp lady and King's crown!:

But you're right- I used a modern image to create a transparent decal to use over gold leaf - the one below - didn't even notice the change in crown - I'm Irish - I don't know about these things

The little badge is removable so I will make another one

I will throw my hat in the ring and propose an alternative:  VICTORIA LIVES!!!!  (I have the Queen's Crown on my Martini-Henry)
