I really want one of these shirts but they've been sold out for some time. :(

@ Captain D - Naah, Life's too short.  If they'd actually directly stolen my design I'd be annoyed.

@Alexis - This one is Tee shirt too, and is still for sale    ;)

Going to do the white-background versions shortly, and I'm also going to stick some of my 'Strange Tales' stuff up there.

I'll see your Uke orchestra and raise you a Sinfonia

This always makes me think of drunken man hurriedly trying to get dressed... and failing...

Allright, now you have done it, frances. I played it and now the cat is hiding. She will never again trust my laptop.  >:(

No offense was intended by my first reply, I've seen several variations of the image on the net and I didn't know you made the original.

He was named Herbert Khaury but for some strange reason was known by his stage name, Tiny Tim.
Interestingly enough, In the Original Star Trek series, a Herbert was a derrogitory name for a "Stick-in-the-mud" or boring or conservative person

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Oh jeez! I remember Tiny Tim! (God help us, everyone!). He had a top 40 hit in the UK back in the late 60s with his awful falsetto rendition of 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips'.

Florence Foster Jenkins was an heiress who would hire concert halls to put on these appalling recitals. They sold out weeks in advance!! She was actually christened 'Narcissa'! Read about her here

Those are tree shrews, a primitive primate, and not your "normal" insectivore shrews.

(I don't know why I feel obligated to point this out. Must be the pedantic biologist in me.)

It's true.  Reminds me, while I was growing up I was told by a "very knowledgeable person" that we would never have bipedal robots for balance reasons.  I, for one, am thrilled that he was utterly wrong.
There is a place for us out there, we need only pick the spot.  Rise up out of mediocrity and let us bring about our own Golden Age.

EDIT:

I just saw this picture and I had to post... This is "full of win" : Portrait of Chthulu's Mother

http://daily-steampunk.com/steampunk-blog/2012/08/10/fthagn-friday-cthulhus-mother/

From Daily Steampunk:
Quote
But now we face an even greater mystery: Who in the Crawling Chaos’ name is the woman in this portrait, and: How tall is she, actually, and does she have a house in R’lyeh, too.
Oh my, this leads to an even more terrifying question: If Cthulhu’s mother also has a house in R’lyeh, is Cthulhu still living in her basement? The implications… The horror, the horror!
And: Could someone please be so kind and give me the name of the artist? It would be highly appreciated!
