I'm quite good with words, I'll often give poetry a go
so naturally there's something that I now need to know,
throughout the ages poetry has changed, it's really quite drastic
keeping track of it all could make a man spastic!

There's always haiku,
but they're not very steamy
so what do I do?

Sonnets seem best for steampunk, so it beckons
But sonnets can take me more than 900 seconds!
There's no right or wrong answer, I just want to know
for steam poetry, which way do you think I should go?

You've been struck by a poetic curse,
So you're looking for Steampunk in verse?
Well, the limerick form's
Fast become the norm—
It's quite low, but you could do much worse!

Care to join us?

We already have
A thread for steampunk haiku
Can't find it right now

There's many types of poetic verse
That can include a steampunk theme
Their styles can be wide and quite diverse
But all display our love of steam

Nonsense dear boy, you should be more like me.

I think I should also mention I had a dream about this game, only Bailey was a woman...

I assure you, that incident in Singapore was all a misunderstanding.

Perhaps I should have been more clear
When recommending poesy
It's not that I don't like the rest
Just find Limericks more coesy.

When it comes to Steampunk rhymes
We're open and inventive
But threads can often disappear
So one must be attentive.

We even have a Free Verse thread
(Not really to my liking)
With words untramelled by fixed frame—
At times they can be striking.

Dr Quack favours Filk
Like many others of his ilk.

Steampunk Haiku thread?
I think you must mean this one.
Bring it back to life!

As I am a mod
I really should lock this thread
I will in a bit...

Why lock this thread down?
Poetry wants to be free!
Oh well, if you must…
