We might be able to ride these in Fort Lauderdale next year which just happens to be where the 3rd Annual SP Cruise departs and returns to.

"2015 will be the last year we will be doing a Steampunk theme for the cruise. After this coming year we will be changing up the theme of the cruise, unless we get an unexpectedly high number of bookings (in which case we may extend this theme for more years depending on the response). So if you were thinking about coming on the Steampunk Cruise but kept telling yourself "I'll go next year", this is that year. In 2016 we'll still be providing you with the best in luxury theme cruising, but they won't be steampunk anymore. They'll be something else new and equally exciting.

Even if the story is a story, there's too much truth about it.

Based on the cruisers I have met this story seems to be fairly common to a lesser or greater extent.    One of the retired couples we met, not to say that they would otherwise be in a nursing home, has been on more cruises around the world than I could keep track of.  They met us just a few weeks later while they were on a cruise in Alaska.  We even arranged for a local flight instructor to take them up for a lesson (over Taku Glacier) in my plane.




I like to see the story as less about losing faith in the elder care system and more about about making a choice not to pay to just sit in God's waiting room.  http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=112   Of course these seniors are welcome to dress up and join us on the next SP Cruise.

The organizers have cancelled the theme cruise.  Oh well, when all of your cruisers are closet airship pirates mutiny was inevitable.   

This is an excellent group of cruisers and the cruise has become a sort of reunion.  The plan is to continue on our own and develop the cruise further hopefully coordinating new activities.  The best news so far has been that this could mean that the cost has dropped a couple hundred dollars per person.
