Indeed. Capt Salt and Flexistenialist, absolutely amazing work!!! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful creations. I am stunned and delighted to see such fantastic work.
If there are still any entries coming in.....good luck.
(paper was WAY more difficult than I ever could have imagined it would be)

Having tried paper craft years ago and failing miserably at it I decided to pass on this one. I am amazed by the results I see here ! GOOD ON YER!

maybe we could have a paper craft thread for those of us that never got around to trying this?
Though maybe loosen the restrictions a bit, to include origami and other paper formats like scrap booking and altered books and such?

I think we all kinda got caught off guard by the sheer awesomeness that has been posted so simply throwing something together in the middle of the night is probably not going to happen....I mean I guess I could make a paper airplane and glue some gears on it.

lol Yes a paper airplane with gears glued to it would be amusing. Unfortunately at this point that would be better than anything I could come up with. Oh well I knew that this one was likely going to be a washout for me. Still, I look forward to seeing who wins this as so far all of the entries have been wonderful.

I found my lighter, should I go ahead with my idea? In all seriousness, I'd have about a snowball's chance in the Bad Place of doing anything better than the entrants so far. I doff my paper hat to the both of them.

Well, not too many entries this time.. uhhmm, do you guys want to vote on a winner or shall we just call it a tie? I feel like I let you guys down a bit with this GC.. sorry about the lack of awesome on my part.. It'll be better next time, I promise! I have been pretty busy these last few weeks. The last three weeks or so I've spent less time on this forum than I usually do in a single weekend.. I'm having withdrawel symptoms, really! Give me some time to recuperate and I'll try to come up with a super awesome GC in a few weeks..

No this was a good challenge.
Real life got in the way and the entries are so awesome I wouldn't have been competitive anyway...
Good challenge, just bad timing for me...

I agree. It was a fine challenge well managed. It seemed to catch a few folks at a bad time, and then the fact that the first two entries were so far beyond what I had imagined was even possible with paper, equals not too many entries. I'm all for a tie between the two fantastic entries. Well done!

Kinda the same with me. I have been all up and down the east coast on random trips due to my moving at the end of summer. But I would call it a tie as well, amazing work from the two of you!

I agree 100%. This was yet another great challenge but it seems that everyone's lives got way too busy. A regrettable happening, but by no means a fault of the contest itself.

I must also apologise for my lack of performance in this issue. A few rapidly organised hospital appointments, tests and diagnosis have driven it completely out of my mind, which was a shame as I'd actually thought of something "different".
Ah well I might utilise the idea separately.
