Considering I built full-size Dinosaurs out of paper in my bedroom when I was a little kid, I'm in.
That's one BIG bedroom!

It wasn't....imagine coming into your child's modestly sized bedroom and finding life-size (as in up to 20 foot long) dinosaurs in 3D, standing everywhere.....  My mom was quite confused on how to handle the situation because it cost her only a few bucks in paper (got a couple crates of paper at auction) and it showed my talent....but it made one heck of a gigantic mess.

I had a juvenile brachiosaur (the 20 footer), a young tyranosaur, (a 15 footer) a carnotaurus, a hand full of smaller ones, a dimorphodon flying from the ceiling, and for the heck of it I made an australopithecene which I carried around with me for a couple of weeks.   Grin

Did your Mother Take any pictures? Cause that would truly be a sight to see.

As for the competition I will tentatively throw my hat into the ring. I have never worked with paper in a non mache form before and I am likely to be quite busy over the next while but what the heck!

There are some lurking in a box in the closet....family photos going back to the 20's.  One night soon I'm probably going to go through them.

Paper you say? Excellent challenge! I believe I shall join the rest in entering the contest!

I'd like to join in for this challenge.  Never worked in papercraft before.  Could be fun, or could be a disaster.  Just the kind of chance I like.  Wink

Please, No.

I've visited other forums which have applied a "Like" functionality, it both spoils the read flow and makes the forum look childish.

Salutations all,

I've lurked about for quite some time – always impressed with the talent of all the entries here.
If it's alright, I'd like to throw my hat in on this one – I can work pretty well with paper.

This does sound like fun. The possibilities are nearly limitless and I cannot wait to see what people will be doing.

I'm going to have to drop out. I had something cool designed but it would have needed quite a lot of paper and I can't actually afford to buy any right now, it would be a frivolous use of my limited funds. I've got loads of different kinds of paper, but no printer paper (I don't own a printer) so I'm stepping down. I'm really looking forward to see what you've all come up with though =]

I too must regretfully and respectfully retire from this challenge.  Time and (lack of) skill have conspired against me.  I may keep playing with the papercraft, but none of my attempts so far are fit for release.  Best of luck ladies and gents who remain.  I look forward to seeing the entries.

Had a day off on Thursday which I spent sleeping....I hate my schedule.  Well yeah, I guess I should also drop out.  I had everything for me, except time.

I got half way through a project and have rejected it for scale creep.  I am going to start a new one this weekend and see if I can't get it ready to paint by Monday or Tuesday.

Between school and several other projects I haven't had time to work on this at all. Afraid I must drop out as well.

Here is my entry for Gentleman’s Challenge 12.   It’s called Bronze Liberation.

This is the first project that I have finished in my new workshop.

Here are some progress pictures:
For the balloon, I would have liked to use strips of paper glued over a blown up balloon.  But paper mache was not allowed.  So I had to crumple up 8 X 11 paper into a large ball.
