Well well well, this seems like a good place to start. I'm afraid that, despite the amount of lurking I seem to do, I am not terribly active on this site. That being said, if I am going to remedy this in the New Year I might as well start here!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This little set was bought at the 400 Market near Toronto, Ontario with little to no history given asside from what came in the case. They are actually quite comfortable, though I regret to say that they do not have a hat to sit on yet.

Pan,

I have a pair of those. Love them! Though, they did show up at my door with that Easter European Warehouse Smelltm.
I'm actually thinking of taking the brown pleather off and replacing it with black leather. I'm not much into brown.

I will show these illuminated goggles to my daughter as she wants to makesomething similar for an electronics project. These are great and will, I hope, inspire her.

This thread does have some amazing goggles.

I would like to post some photos of my first and only two pair that I've made so far.

Pair #1 (a goggles hat band combo)

Pair #2 (custom fit to face)

Wow. The brass grating on those goggles is quite amazing. Where might one find such things?

I like the first one a lot. Pretty sure I would like it more though if you hadn't used the same material accenting the sides in place of lenses too tho. The impracticality is a tad hard to shake. Also I think it would have meant more, what with less being more and all. But for your first forays they are both quite amazing=]

These: http://www.harborfreight.com/2-piece-welding-goggles-set-35711.html (the flip up ones on the right) are great for wearing over glasses, I wore them around the house today and let them get formed to my face, they are comfortable and once painted up, look great. The rubber collar piece is kind of cheap so I may put the front piece on a leather reproduction of the pvc collar, so it'l look more steampunk and also fit a bit better. for the price, if you wear glasses, or even if not, these are a real deal. Pluss, they include another pair that can be used for welding or another project.

Found this morning in a garage sales near Toulouse (France)

Not exactly cheap, but for me it was a very reasonable price  Grin

Anyone have a idea about the age of the goggles?

I've been looking for a set of goggles at a reasonable price for ages, eventually I gave up and made these.

I (borrowed) a pair of plastic goggles from my sons crystal growing set and literally glued some leather on them and used two brass rings from door rim locks.
