I'm a INTJ:

Introverted: 89%
Intuitive: 62%
Thinking: 100%
Judging: 78%

That would make me a 'Mastermind', I like it!

My steampunk archetype would be: Philosopher/Scholar: They like old, rare books and wax poetic about the classics; they talk too much about things no one cares about or prefer books to people.

By Jove! This test thing is good. ^_Q

Can you imagine the world with all us INTJ types in charge? Glorious I'd say!

As a fellow INTJ, I can only agree! Though I almost prefer the traditional term of 'Mastermind' to the 'Philosopher/Scholar.'

Tnis is incredible. INTJ is one of the rarest, but we seem to be relatively common in this forum.

Maybe we have proven something about Steampunk personality types!

Me too! INTJ according to a test organised by my employers around eight years back. I work in an area with a high percentage of strategists and thinkers but even there this was a relatively uncommon type. So why so many of us here?

I believe we can answer Mr. Cooper's question now. A world of INTJ's (or at least a world with a large percentage of them) would look something like BG.

Yes, I think I could stand a world like that...

I hate to conform to anything ... but here, there seems to be an emerging pattern

I'm an INTJ
74% Introverted
63% Intuition
68% Thinking
68% Judging

Now that all this is shared - time to get back to what I was doing.

You won't get very far. Us INTP types are the ones who actually build the Destructomatic Doomsday Devices (TM) used to accomplish world domination.

Sadly we tend to get distracted and forget all about th..........

Actually - that poses an interesting question! Which personality type is best suited to world domination?  For example, Extraverts are action oriented, while introverts are thought oriented.

Fascinating! I must do some research on this...

I've twice done a Myers Briggs test at various workplaces,
First time I came up as INFP, but second time as INTJ.
Make of that what you will.

As could I.

Perhaps the answer lies in creating a team consisting of both Extroverts for all the actiony stuff and Introverts for all the thinking and planning of the actiony stuff. A singular creation which is greater than the sum of it's parts.

Perhaps a split personality of some kind?

Make that another INTJ.

As to rarity, it depends where you look.
I had an RSM that used to M-B test the whole battalion every year - looking for young ENTJs to mould into the next generation of leaders, and I was the only INTJ every time, but then I moved into my current role and it's reversed.

Interesting it's not so rare around BG.

I took this one again, going back to memory lane. My personality must have changed.  I got ENTJ. INTJ is the Strategist, but no one is clear what ENTJ is. Like what, a political revolutionary?

Yes. If you're ILUG, you're probably lying.  Wink (If you're ILIG, you're definitely lying.)

I don't mean to come off as a  conformist, but I usually score INTJ on these tests, though I don't know how accurate these tests are. I could be just answering on behalf of an idealised version of myself.

I think we all answer to an idealised version of ourselves... The alternative is just too ghastly to contemplate.
