Its been this way for many months- I finally did the smart thing and decided to ask about it!

So I'm trying to update my profile with a new profile pic, change my signature, etc, etc- and I keep getting the same error no matter what browser I use- no matter how many times I clear my cache:

"Database Error
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator. "

Thank-you in advance!

Just wondering if this was ever resolved.

There's another thread dealing specifically with avatar images. Steam Rabbit's problem appears to be more broadly concerned with his profile in general.

If those of you who are having problems could read these existing posts on the same problems.  Most of the advice I'd give is already in there.

Including the bit about you linking us to the images you're trying to use, else it's purely guesswork for us.

Except that as I read Steam Rabbit's original post (and I may be misreading it) he's having an entirely different problem, where he can't update other elements of his profile as well. (I assume this since he's getting an actual error message, indicating a database connection problem; when I reported the avatar pic problem I wasn't getting any indication at all from the system.)

Major, it might be worth while (in the interest of user satisfaction, if nothing else) for you (or someone) to PM or email Steam Rabbit to get some clarification.

I'm sure they'll keep us updated in this thread.  Easier for all of the mod and admin team to see the info.  That's exactly what the section is for, that way people with similar problems can also raise them, or contribute.

Is this still a problem?  Or has it been resolved?

I have a question about my profile.  Just checked it, & the "stats" say I have 1469 posts.  But when I check the posts themselves, there are 1609 there- why the discrepancy?

Hi will,

I believe the reason is that some areas of brass goggles do not count toward your post count.  So it's possible to post something (say in off topic) and have it not count toward your total post count.

Hope this clears things up!
