we shall see what everyone else can find. I will say that there are things out there that are so wrong the seller can't even be bothered to spell 'Steampunk' properly in the description.

Sad thing is that, although there was a segment of Victorian society that questioned the church and it's associated rules and ethics, there was still a perceived morality and a strict adherence to etiquette. This is generally not recognized by the majority even within the steampunk world. Those trying to sell Steampunk items with just a basic understanding of marketing sometimes totally miss the mark. We must educate the masses, so that those in the manufacturing and marketing segments can provide a more accurate product, allowing more to enjoy the genre. There was certainly a place for skulls, as well as test-tubes and scientific paraphernalia, but the skull jewelry is abit much. As a man, I appreciate the look of Corsets and Bustiers, as well as a glimpse of leg, it is not truly a victorian example of dress, although it does exude the word "Punk" to show more chest and leg ..even a bit of midriff. But to offer up a bright pink tank-top? Really? We must educate the masses, people, I am a Mechanologist in the Autokinetica field and as such, it is not really smart to wear a tuxedo to work (although our detailer/car washer did one day Kudos to him!) I suggest we allwear our Victorian garb as much as possible. And meet in public more often, even if just for a cuppa or some scones at Tim Hortons/Starbucks/whatever Ta Ta for now. And God Bless. (No offense with that last bit, butt it still fits our genre)

Does anyone else see ski goggles and a toque? (toque=wooly hat in Canuck ) Holy crap I do! On a better day I could even tell you what the toque was advertising! (I still think that pink… tee-shirt… tank top… thing is a winner, although there's really nothing wrong with it that wouldn't be fixed by a few passes with a flame-thrower… )

The sugar molds and T shirts seem to suggest someone thinks the mid 1980s are steampunk; I'm bracing myself for steampunk leg warmers, barnets and spandex trousers

Actually a harder choice than I though as some of those are truely horific However, on the basis that you could throw away the hidious pendant and recycle the chain, the necklace fell to 3rd place. As you could wear it under your outfit an therefore have it never be seen by human eyes, the T-shirt slotted into 2nd Which leaves the only item that you couldn't hide, even if you wanted to. So, Congratulation to Voltin for shocking us all with the 'Steampunk' pink balaclava. 1st Prize
