I sincerely hope that nobody is thick enough to spend $18 on five gears...
I'd have no problem spending $18 on five gears- but they'd have to be substantially larger than a quarter.

I'd have no problem spending $18 on five gears- but they'd have to be substantially larger than a quarter. That's a good point! I had meant to write that as part of my original statement, but apparently forgot to. But asking $18 for five gears of that size is ridiculous. Especially when you could (probably) buy the clock that those gears (and more) came out of for less than that price.

I'm actually more offended by the phrase "vintage hipster sunglasses" than the fact that they threw Steampunk at the end. Implying that these hipsters have been here a while and that their style had remained constant. Although band wagoners are nothing new, what they glom on to has changed wildly.

59 VINTAGE WATER VALVE FAUCET HANDLES / STEAMPUNK / SPIGOT HANDLE / SOME LARGEvF2-!~~60_12.JPG) Honesty, 12 bids at 79 dollars. They're not vintage at all, they're covered in what looks like plastic.

I'm gonna have to go with Rev. Jade. Although the hello kitty rings are VERY non steampunk they got titled as many different things (goth, love, heart, etc.) This one seemed to be titled only as steampunk, and that's why I chose it.

That looks more like symptoms of possession by a minor demon than a fashion accessory. It would probably itch.

i was reading this thread and i agree with most but i think the chloroform would be steampunk if you creating a bad guy steam punk persona such as a pirate, or theif, or kidnapper, jack the ripper style. then chloroform on the neck would be a good idea, like an assassin would have poison, or an alcoholic alcohol

I think the cuffs look less steampunk than the spigot handles.
The handles at least look useful, if rather gaudy and, according to the description, plastic.
Those cuffs look distressingly organic, and with that color rather unwell at that. And the embossed smirking skulls just look humorous. The whole thing has a knobbly silhouette from a distance that suggests something a little more primitive than steampunk.

I definitely think I'm going to have to go with Kathy_Davidson's posting. Sculpted Leather Skull Bracers Goth Steampunk LARP I just don't see these as being used in anything steampunk, while the spigot handles at least have some potential, despite the ugly plastic coatings on them.

Just think, Bon Jovi was a steampunk band all this time and I never knew. Speaking of T shirts, I think that this one deserves a mention. NEW DESIGNER T-SHIRT. 10/12 STEAMPUNK. EMO. GOTH

The blouse is fairly Steamy, and the mannequin provably looks quite nice, in the original Japanese coloring. Japanese features on a redhead with blue-green eyes is two great looks that clash horribly.
