Yes, Apparently it is steampunk because it is wearing a small pink hat.

Don't forget that it also has a pair of dice hanging from the rear; for those gambling nights, because as we all know gambling automatically makes you a steampunk (I guess on account of Wild West-Era gambling on paddle ships traversing the Mississippi; and all those years I had fuzzy dice hanging from the car's mirror, I didn't even know I was already a Steampunk!)

Sorry, it's not fun, neither is it quirky. Its just rubbish. I have an image of a crazy cat lady somewhere who finds things and glues them together to make something 'new and 'wonderful' for those crazy steampunks.

At least the alligator is house-trained.

Not sure how Steampunk this actually is (though it is brass and has an octopus on it), but it's still pretty cool.

You're probably not at the "crazy cat lady" point yet.

I really like that, actually.
It would be even better if it came with cameos in the locket.

I'm not sure how Lovecraftian it is, but it is kinda cute.

It's got an octopus on it, surely that makes it just as Lovecraftian as it is Steampunk?

So... not very.  Tongue

Bought one for my daughter though. I'm sure Daddy's Little Eldritch Terror will get a kick out of it.  Grin

And it is a different octopus.  Finally one that isn't from that same mold that would be kind of cool if it wasn't so ubiquitous.
(Ha, knew I'd find somewhere to use that word someday.) I like octopuses but sometimes it looks like there is only one octopus in the entire steampunk universe(s).

I have two of those octopi necklaces but I think it has to do with my collection of stuffed lobsters, octopi and my tenancy to draw squids on everything, not with my steampunk leanings.   I am sad they are hipster fodder tho.

Speaking as the male version of crazy cat lady (in an embryonic stage at least), I can only say I know the syndrome when it manifests in others. And I would love for you to set your cat on me as they invariably tend to wind themselves around my ankles presumably in an attempt to trip me up rather than to get as much fuss as possible Oh no, that would never be the case. Wink

And I was referring to a CRAZY cat lady rather than an eccentric lover of moggies.

Construction-wise, it's well done. On the other hand, nothing says "I'm a bloodthirsty cutthroat scoundrel!" like a bunny with butterfly wings.  Roll Eyes

It would not work by itself..... but as part of a reasonably good outfit it would not
look horribly out of place..... Might be fairly humorous on a cutthroat air-pirate....

Meh. Perhaps I'm being cynical, but you could etch H.M.S. Jules Verne into that thing, bolt it to a brass plaque, travel back in time and have it autographed by HG Wells, then rivet the whole bloody thing to the front of a coal-powered airship,  and it STILL wouldn't be steampunk.

I'm sorry, I know its not Steamy, or even piratey, but I love the bunny pin.

*kisses his masculine credibility goodbye*

There seems to be a lot of Bunny's turning up on this topic.
Are Bunny's another Steampunk phenomena that I have missed out on?

Actually (and this may just be my bunny fetish talking), I think that's really cute and works well for what it is.. I'd wear that.

Also, here you go:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/mouse-Steampunk-pocket-locket-watch-necklace-pendant-/170829362160?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c63933f0 <-- Because there's nothing more steampunk than Mickey Mouse. Nothing.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-Vinylmation-Urban-3-Steam-Punk-/320895782975?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab6e1103f <-- .......Yep.

I love that in the description for that it says "one of a kind," but there are at least three other listings of the exact same thing.
