Excellent, and I do know that Doctor Geof, purveyor of the finest bespoke smut will of course be there for all Tea Company related merchandise.

Hmm, I had every intention of going - but I have now found out that there's a major event in the shooting calendar on (you've guessed it) the 25th, 26th and 27th of May.

Grr.

I'll be in Bisley/Worplesdon* during the day all weekend, but as it's quite close to London I expect that I'll be available to turn up at "evening" gatherings on Thursday/Friday/Saturday Smiley Smiley
I'll get in contact with people and find out what's going on!

From here:

I will be going, with at least four of my nine compatriots from last year and hopefully a couple of new ones. This time round the theme is cosplay safari, as long as I remember to make some scoresheets and little cocktail-stick flags.

Will there be any sort of steampunk/brassgoggles meetup? Seems a shame to let the Narutards have all the fun.

That's a good question; are the VSS going to have their stall again this year? If so that's generally the conglomerate of steampunks.
Good word that; conglomerate.

I'm pretty sure that the VSS will be having their usual stand (Lady Elsie will be the one to ultimately confirm, but she's a very busy lady and needs to get Whitby out of the way first) so that will be 'Steampunk Central' for meeting up and having fun.

I believe the organisers are being a little tardy in confirming this time. Probably juggling space.

I have a number of exhibits ready, including the Mimmoth Skull, and my Feejee Mermaid (and yes it does sing and dance). I hope to have at least one other exhibit ready. Will it be the Jackalope, the Feral Haggis or something else?

I just realised that the 25th of May is also, for those who appreciate the works of Douglas Adams, Towel Day.

I have an original second generation Hitchhikers towel, brown and beige, with the towel quote very rare  it's over 20 years old (most of the others have gone stiff).

I know where my towel is, do you?

I would be interested in helping out at the VSS stall again... The actual expo doesn't really hold much interest for me, but the 'meeting new steampunks' is always my fave part <3

Now Whitby is over for a few months we are now sorting out MCM EXPO and all of what that entails.

We will be looking for folks to come and help man the VSS area and to Exhibit items of steamy wonderfulness.

If you would like to join us for the three days AND have items to display please make yourself know here. We have a number of free passes to offer folks on here.

We do like to see lots of steamy folks around to help talk to attendees and spread the steamy message.

Our Author this time will be the lovely Sam Stone.
So if you wish to come and join us, please let me know.

Yours,
Lady Elsie.

Frabjous Joy! Sam is lovely!

I can do all three days booked for the evenings in the Barking Travelodge,  travelling down Thursday will bring The Feejee Mermaid, Mimmoth Skull, and I have made a companion piece to my Air Kraken beak (don't think i've brought that to an Expo before) it is a pair of 6 inch long Stag beetle mandibles mounted like stag horns, so I will be bringing both on a mounting board. I will starting on the animatronic Jackalope next, I don't know if I will have that ready though. Apparently I can buy a Hare mask online for about £3 from a fly fishing suppliers, so ordering that and glass eyes this weekend.

I'd be happy to come along and help, was planning on all three days, but haven't bought tickets yet. However sadly I have nothing to display other than myself, but am likely to be there all three days with the new rocketpack outfit and the old faithful pinstripe :-)

Hopefully by next year I may be able to display some items .
