That was me, I assumed it was done and I apologise. However, in your haste to remove undo it you've also taken out a chunk of the dock Makebot build on one of the cardinal points, could you please put it back? ~Longeye~

Damn it. Real life is taking up entirely too much time these days. I don't think I will be able to contribute much at all in the near future. I'll check out the build from time to time as a tourist though..

I think the only thing I removed from there were the balloons. If anything else is gone I don't think it was me...
Also, sorry, I didn't realise that wasn't a housing are and was wondering what the deflated condoms were doing there.

Akumabito; that's what it's there for real life does have its way of intruding, so there's never been, nor will there ever be, any obligation! Hope on when you want, poke things with a blaze rod and see what happens! That's all I've been doing all year Corsair; Just the balloons, but they were a part of it and for now they need to be replaced, unless someone has built a better style of balloon that can be put on every given "balloon point". ~Longeye~

What was wrong with the style of balloons we already had?

That's true, they look like cubes twisted through 45 degrees. If you want them to be cubes (possibly playing on the minecraft = square thing) then just make it a cube, however seeing as all the other balloons that have been made (the blimps and your own air-bags under the buildings) look like actual balloons, they'd all need to be updated. That or the two that are currently attached the the housing platform need to look more balloonular. ~Longeye~

Any chance you could have a go at ballonulating them? I'm no balloonifier and either one of us gets balloony or we wait for cogs. Balloon.

It's a fantastic word, isn't it? I could give it a go, but I think they'll look pretty awful. Having said it, the idea of perfectly cubed balloons is somewhat appealing now, what do you think? ~Longeye~

Right, my balloons are no good so we need help!
Also, no offence but I'm not loving the garden. It looks far too big and spread out, and it's taking up a chunk of the diagonal lines (which are going to hold more housing, similar to the cardinal lines). Is it possible to go back to roof gardens? They were more broken up and only used 2 blocks of height... I'm worried that packing in one or two large area gardens like that will mean other things have to be suspended further out (and I'm trying to keep the main bulk of buildings close in). ~Longeye~

I had a brief discussion with makebot about this earlier and we decided we'd do neither. Instead we'll build a single structure for all the farming needs, possibly including a livestock farm and wool farm, which would be entirely separate from all the housing areas. The rooftop gardens were silly I thought and turned a Steampunk-ish flying build into a future city complete with hydroponics. Also the roofs would drip.

That's true... where are you planning on putting this extra bit? Thinking about it; if you took the cabins from the smaller fans you could put a different farm on top of each small fan. ~Longeye~

If you're wanting diagonals with housing areas then one of them could be replaced with the farms. 7 housing blocks of 8-9 houses each is fairly substantial for the first section of developments.

Damn, It looks so great, I want to build some fan based flying machines (as it seems someone has the Duck Off Airship under control) but alas....I have to be in work for the next 10 hours . It all looks absolutely amazing though guys.

Thanks Manix, I wasn't 100% sure how it was going to go but I'm starting to like the style myself. It is a shame work gets in the way, but then better that then nothing! It's not going anywhere, we're not going to be done any time "soon" so whenever you want feel free top hop on and add something. Fan-based airships sound like a great idea!
Corsair; that's a good point and it could be done; the downside is to look realistic enough to have enough food it will again look like a fairly large platform (which will look out of place). Having thought about it, I think your idea might work better (separate). What about have it floating off the diagonal (a little way away) and have 4/5 platforms at different heights, then a framework of fences with balloons at the top, and a smaller balloon under each platform (like your pointed roof build)? If it's put slightly lower than the city there could be another platform with an engine on it and a second hose like the one on the docks, to pump water to the fields? ~Longeye~

Howabout none of the above and we have a bridge extending off the back of a diagonal housing block that leads to a further away fan which is build solely to support the farming area. There could also, if we could make it work, be cables running from the farming district to each of the housing districts which would have cable cars suspended from them which would carry the food around. So farming district, 4 cable car stations (each with 2 lines extending from it) and a platform beneath each housing district with its cable car station attached.

Or how about a series of glass bio-domes each located on the outer of the city each suspended either by a balloon or 4 small fans on the corners.
Also, who ever owns the 2 v-large airships, I congratulate you on their ballooneyness, their shape is fantastic, I have never been able to reproduce a balloon or even a curved shape of that calibre.

Tell you what, why not build the glass sphere and see how it looks? If it doesn't fit we can move it to the End and build a set of spheres holding another build. I have a feeling it'll look too "modern" and be a bit out of place. ~Longeye~
