Ahh. I think I can fix the poll. With my appologies, Longeye...
I've edited the poll to show the results after someone has voted. You should all be able to see the results now.

No worries, glad that's sorted Moderators being able to see all results makes sense, unfortunately it hobbles my "secret voting" plan, as there are currently 3 moderators on the server.... ah well ~Longeye~

I'm confused, it didn't need fixing. He said on the last page he purposefully set it so that people couldn't see the results.

Yes, I've set it to be invisible. The idea is (aside from mods which I can't really change) it's a blind vote until it's finished. ~Longeye~

I will not accept the results of this poll. Either let only the players vote, or don't try it in the first place.
Shoggo; there are other people interested in this than just server members... if we wanted to do it "properly" then we would only let people who are physically going to build get involved, which would rule out Corsair for certain things, and most of the rest of us for other things. It can be completely one, because lets be honest who is going to try and sabotage a minecraft poll on Brass goggles of all places? ~Longeye~
If my vote was a problem, feel free to delete it.

I see this as a way to reach out to the rest of the forum a little more, so I'd much rather it be "open" than "shut". I've raised the ida of moving away from BG a little more, and the majority of people want to stay integrated, so that's what I'm sticking with. You're fine Mr. Crow ~Longeye~

I for one would like to see more people come vote on here, regardless of whether they so choose to play on the server or otherwise. Namely because it'll give us something to give them! (other than trolling messages). Maybe we could do a little video tour around it and present it here for all to see afterwards.

That's a good idea Pea, I think it would be nice to do a video tour with as many of the builders as possible at once! I'll try to arrange it as we get closer to finishing! Good thinking ~Longeye~

Also, we know what will be easy or not to build, people who know nothing of minecraft will not, thus we cannot be bias towards a nice easy build......

Okay everyone; votes are shut and the winner is: A Mechanical Flying City! Now please NOBODY start building it just yet. This is very important. For the next day or so it's going to be planning and area prep, then everyone will be able to build once we have it ready. If you want to be on the "planning team" please drop me a PM as quickly as you possibly can! I'll post here with more details, to save cluttering the main thread. Thanks for voting everyone; if you're no on the server but want to join in then please drop me a PM and I'll be happy to add you, otherwise look out for the final video! ~Longeye~

Right; as planning has hit a slight dead end now it's time to release info and start building! This mechanical city will be build at the "build" warp location. You can warp there using regular commands, and see the location on the DynMap. At the moment there is nought but a platform; this is the LOWEST level that can be built to, NOTHING lower! The city will focus around fans; gigantic fans that will keep it aloft. Buildings will take one of two forms: - Light builds on the edges/junctions/above fans
- Heavier builds in blimps attached to the main city
Now the light builds must be that; light! Nothing big and heavy, it has to be compact and look like it doesn't weigh much (actual style is variable). The fans are to be large, circular and build of iron with wooden(planks of varying colours) propellers. There must be at least a walkway round the circumference, although it is advisable to have an arched "bridge" going over it in at least one direction (maybe crossed?). The heavier builds can be nestled in or suspended under a blimp, but must also look realistic! I don't really want circular balloons with whole mansions suspended from them! These are all to be connected to the city via one (or more) "rope lines" which I'd suggest building out of fences, but if you have a better idea for a "rope" then feel free to give it a trial (be aware that I might switch them all out later if a really good design appears). The main shape of the city will be one large fan in the middle, with four smaller (but still big) ones around it. I would like someone to build engines to power these (built at the junctions) as I'm no good at mechanics Aside from that you can add walkways above it, multiple layers, extra fans and blimps surrounding the whole thing if you want! If you have ideas, post them here! ~Longeye~ p.s. if you've played it; the basing theme was the end level from Sly Cooper 2; Arpeggio's armada. There are no pictures of it online that I can see, but if you've played the game you should remember the idea.

I did a simple 8 cylinder 'engine'. It is 11 blocks wide, 9 blocks long and 5 blocks high, not including walkways, etc. I dumbed down the engine design as much as possible to make it tiny. It doesn't have the nice senquential movement of a real engine, but it is simple, without redstone repeaters.. just 4 redstone torches and a bunch of redstone dust, actually.. plus, the entire engine can be controlled with a single switch..

Well now... I was just going for "block looks like engine"... erm... If you want to make them actually fire then I could live with that There are currently 4 engine blocks on the build, if you want to "convert" them go ahead! I would also like to add a "rule" if you will; if you're not building a fan the do not use iron blocks at all! Only fans should be made of iron! ~Longeye~
