Wednesday- Saturday this week Stage 2 (Birmingham's biggest and best Youth Theatre) are putting on a production of Our Town by Thornton Wilder at the Crescent Theatre.

I'm going tonight with family and thought some of you might be interested in the show because
Stage 2 always put on wonderful, high-quality productions and astound with the wealth of young talent. Plus the play is set in 19th century America:

Plenty of tickets left at the moment, but they often move fast in Production week so I'd recommend booking via The Crescent

Thank you! It was a wonderful play; very dream-like in places and completely capturing the ambience of small town life (and death) in a bygone era.

I heartily recommend it to all.

Pushes open his crypt door and reanimates.......

Sorry for being a bit quiet, it looks like I've missed a few good meets as well.  Am I right in thinking that the next event is the steam rally?  I shall definitely try to get to that one!

Problem is, so many things have been cancelled with the weather, or pushed around date-wise to miss the mudbaths, that everyone's losing track (Mine sank in a quagmire 'bout four weeks back  Cheesy )

Maybe we should do something steamboat related?  Wink

I was referring to the Hanbury rally on 10th August, but having checked the website (http://shakespearesrally.com/Hanbury.htm) , it seems that the event is cancelled.  Sad

Facebook event here: http://www.facebook.com/events/377688198932230/

Last year's event was an absolutely cracking day out so much to see lovely people to chat to, plus a BBQ and beer tent run by the folk from the Saracen's Head (the venue of two previous WMSA Winter meets). Heartily recommend it, and a lovely spot in it's own right.

Considering how much time I spend in the Coventry/Birmingham area, I'm sure I'll be able to make one of these soon!

There is an Pharoah exhibition on at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Victoria Square that looks quite interesting (thanks for bringing it to my attention Steve!)

Anybody up for a trip to see it one of the Saturdays?

Provisional date for the visit to the Pharoah exhibition is August 25th- the Saturday of the Bank Holiday.  How does this suit everyone?

I regret that due to my recent move of home, it's unlikely I'll be able to attend anything in August - my finances are in A&E at the moment.   I also have no internet connection at home until early September, so I can't check on things very often.  However, things should start returning to normal in the Moore household during September.
Do take care and have fun, everyone, in the meantime!

We had hoped to be coming to Spetchley, but we have a jaunt back to 1485 booked for this week end. Maybe next year…

The trip to the Pharoah Exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is still on-course to go ahead this Saturday.  General plan is to meet in Victoria Square outside the Museum at around 12.30PM, if this suits everyone.
