That can be the problem with making an outfit - you keep on spotting more and more things to add to it... But good shoes are a must, so your plan for quality shoes first then fix their look is a prudent choice. Yours, Miranda. Apparently there are suede gaiters available from equestrian circles. They're called "half-chaps" euphemistically. Actually they're just knee length gaiters, with elastic bands. The tend to cost $60, but on discount, I've seem a black pair for $15. Being suede, though, that is a material I have worked with. Unlike fabric, suede needs no sewn edges, just cutting... So this is something even I could make (though at $15 it may not be worth it to make my own). Buttons or embellishments can be added to a blank pair. To add a level of "fem", perhaps combining the cable knit sock with the suede in some way could be an option (like converting the knit socks to leg warmers, folded over the gaiter showing the tassles). I do want to display the cable knitting somehow. |

Thanks for the compliments. I like also the look of regency era uniforms and other very elaborate styles what some steampunks use in different cons, but big poofy clothes and hats turn usually very inconvenient in warm and cramped interiors, so it's more comfortable to keep my own style practical as possible.  |

Sludge I wish I could find stripey pants like in your pic. So I have been gone for months between work and making things but I didn't stop dressing up so here are some shots in chronological order sort of. We start off with something I wore to the hottest ren fair in the world. And then I was a pirate. I revisited one of my first steampunk outfits. And then the lace was the only thing cool enough. I may have stolen a ruby from an idol but really they weren't useing it. But I did fight to keep it. So that totaly makes it mine. Then there was that whole mermaid smuggling ring fiasco. And then I was a princess. |

And sometimes the real pockets are sort of useless too. I wish cargo pants would come back for ladies because the gents ones I have tried on just dont work. Thanks for the compliment I got a new corset not to long ago and I am really loving how a more fited military style looks with it.
