Hello there,
First I'd like to thank you -whom ever you may be- for taking the time to read this.

(Although, being part of the scene for quite a while now, life has not exactly been good for my Steampunk side, though i do love it so. So I'm looking for a few, more experienced people to advise me. But, that doesn't particularly matter as of right now..  Embarrassed)

What I'd like to know, is How many of us are there here? Huh
By 'Here' I mean, in the Northamptonshire Area. I, Myself, live in Rushden, and don't know many (Any) Steampunks in my local area (My father aside)

So, if you could, just drop me a line here to tell me you exist.. Smiley
Cheers, Buskerette
(P.S Sorry for the general suck-yness of this post. It's my second ever and I'm still slightly nervous. Thank you again for reading it Smiley )

I come from the Northampton area, originally.
I now live in Preston - which is a bit like moving house next door.

Here in Preston we run quarterly steampunk events - which is relevant because a fair few of my old friends from daaahn saaath keep coming/meaning to come up here for them. Ergo there are certainly steampunkers in the Northampton area.

I'm not overly sure (beyond anime conventions around October) how big the scene is, and any other activities. I shall put the word out for you, and reply when knowing more.

There were about 100 of us at the Steampunk New Year at the Holiday Inn Corby, last month.

Hi Buskerette, nice to see you on here!
There are a few Northants types, including Gladstone, a steampunk band. There's also a facebook group, I think it's called something like east midlands and east of england time travellers... Not quite that but similar. I'll try to find you the link and send it to you on facebook.
(I'm Linzi, btw- we met at steam rallies!)

There are a bunch of us going to be at Belvoir Steam Rally (as I understand you might well be since Dr Busker is playing.)  Come and find us at our display camp - can't miss it, Victorian bell tents and a bunch of chaps in kilts - and we will have a chat about events, local contacts for you and where we miught be able to help encourage meets.
