Soliciting for opinions regarding two choices for construction of another hatband. The leather braid is about 3/4 of an inch wide. You can also suggest ideas for space between and/or the number of pieces to be included. As always the replies (good, bad or ugly) are appreciated.

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time...

I like the gear version best, mixed metals always look good.

Thirded - definitely the gears.

If you've got mixed metals, it'll co-ordinate with more outfits, too. The grey-silver would look out of place if your outfit had only brass-coloured metal.

My thanks to one and all for the feedback. Now all I have to do is figure the 'pattern' onto the band. The 'framed' gear look has the appropiate SP look to it while the metal bits by themselves lend to a very different 'attitude'. And for anyone interested: The metal bits are from a metal watchband. Separating each piece was by no means easy. The connector pins were nearly frozen and had to be coaxed out.

Will post finished pics when complete.

I'm late to the game, but I like the gear one best as well.  Looking forward to seeing the finished hat!

My dear lady, the hat will be the same (in the posted pic) but the band will achieve different looks as my imagination takes flight. I've a bit of a quandary as to attaching certain pieces at the moment. I should have the WIP finished by the weekend and will post then. And may I add that your creations are quite outstanding. *tips hat*
