Steamcon is one of the largest, longest running steampunk conventions in the world. We have big plans for our fourth year. Our theme; Victorian Monsters is a nod to the time of year, but also to the huge number of classic monsters that came out of the Victorian era. Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Spring Heeled Jack, the Invisible Man, Jack the Ripper and many more were born in that time period. At Steamcon IV, we intend to give them a steampunk makeover. Join us for many ghastly frights and ghoulish delights. So save the date! All will be revealed in time, but as with all truly glorious horror, anticipation will make it all the more chilling... October 26th - 28th 2012 Hyatt Regency Bellevue www.steamcon.orgAuthor Guest of Honor: Kim Newman Artist Guest of Honor: TBD Musical Guest of Honor: TBD Games Guest of Honor: TBD The rate is $119 for double occupancy. Well, I am new here in NW Washington. I just heard about Abney Park here on the forum. There doesn't seem to be much SP action here in Whatcom County, lol. I'm not sure why...brass doesn't rust.....

Vela and I will be handing out "Brass Goggles" ribbons at Steamcon as usual. Also, you can get a special themed ribbon from Vela and you can get two additional ribbons from me if you can tap out a few Morse Code character on my telegraph key.

Well that was quite a well done event. Nice people all around, and I even went to panels. Something I hardly ever do at cons, they were that interesting. I wonder if I missed closing cerermonies though. The gripe session seemed to run over into its timeslot, and when it was over everyone got up and left. I'd like to have heard about attendence, and what next years theme is going to be. Oh well.
