I find hitting golf balls off my ship an endlessly entertaining game as opposed to the sport on the ground, which I lack prowess at. The scoring system I invented in an idle moment is as follows:
Miss: 0 points Hits a bird: 3 points A plane: 4 points Another airship: 5 points Air Kraken: 10 points

Here I was, reading through this whole thread thinking, "What? No one's said The Enterprise, or Serenity?" and then boom, page 11, there they both get mentions.
My zeppelin would be the Chimera.
Well, the Enterprise in my list has nothing to do with Star Trek: The Enterprise I was referring to would be the airship used by the heroes in Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III...... Which Reminds me, also in my fleet would be the USS Prima Vista (that would be named after the airship that the Tantalus theater troupe/theives guild used in Final Fantasy IX).

Off topic - I found an article today in a 1915 magazine titled "Aero & Hydro" (specializing in early aircraft and seaplanes), devoted to a "Zeppelin Destroyer", an American design for a hunter/killer airship specifically built to counter the German Zeppelin bombers. It appears to be a slimmer design with a lot of aerodynamic features that would allow it to overhaul and attack the larger aercraft. The ZD was naught built of course, but the thought of broadsides at 9,000' over the French countryside gives me a smile.

If it was an elegant zeppelin that was not necessarily made for war then I would name it Alice. If it was a junky lumbering behemoth created for war I'd probably name it The Mad Matter and put a comical little hat, on the outer air bladder.

It is odd that they didn't get brought up sooner. I guess that proves that TSF members' creativity surpasses their geekiness! Till it got to me, that is...

A probably too-obvious seasonal reference-The Great Pumpkin. (in bright orange of course). If it blows up, then it will be a lighted pumpkin.

Hm.... I don't know, to tell the truth. If I were serving a monarchy (whether His/Her Britannic Majesty or Sein Kaiserliche und Koenigliche Majestaet (forgive my German, I don't recieve much education in royal and noble titles and styles in my high school German class), it would obviously be prefaced with HMA (His Majesty's Airship, as a few people have pointed out) or SML (for Seine Majestaet Luftschiff, basically the same thing in German), but anything more specific would probably be up to circumstance.
I do like the names Belligerent Pretext and Casus Belli that I came up with, but I suspect I came up with them intending them to be used in a more classic science fiction setting, but perhaps they could be sister ships somehow?
But I have a whole list of ship names that I think were inspired by Covenant naming conventions from the Halo series - or maybe just inspired by the ship names in general.
Constipated Hierarch, Priest-ridden Theocracy, Presanctified Hereafter, Harbinger of Doom (I rather like this one, it's also predominantly Germanic in etymology rather than Greek or Latin), Impious Host, Importunate Oracle, Insidious Apostle, Righteous Indignation, Excommunicator, Idiopathic Apostasy (this is another favorite), Indecorous Annihilation (heh heh), Deus ex Machina, Belligerent Canine - and that's not even all of the list I have written. But most of these are predominantly religious in terminology - I think that might be why I liked them, as opposed to your usual Conquerer and Enterprise and ships named after virtues and famous ships, which were originally named after virtues, and the like.
And of course, there's always Endeavor. But it all depends. Ideally, of course, I'd have a veritable Zeppelin Armada (or would that be Air Fleet?). Luftflotte Zeppelin, anyone?

My fleet would be named The Heinlein, The H. B. Piper, the E. R. Burroughs, The Verne, The Wells, The J. London, The Zelazny, The Asimov, etc., depending on the size of the fleet.

The Incubus
The Demon that lures women to bed and impregnates them? Now, that's a feisty name I have a thing for the Ubuntu OS names. Not original in its original meaning, but still quite fitting for a Zeppelin as well, I think. How does HMS Warty Warthog, HMS Hoary Hedgehog, HMS Breezy Badger, HMS Dapper Drake, HMS Edgy Eft, HMS Feisty Fawn, HMS Gutsy Gibbon or HMS Hardy Heron sound like?
