The Hessian. Though it's a type of fabric, I still think it's a good nae for a Zeppelin.

What's an "eft"?

A type of salamander (around here, what we call a "Red Eft" is the semi-mature stage of the common Eastern Newt).

*rolls eyes*

If I were to have my fleet's names running to a theme, I would have to do something similar to Dax, and make them the A.S. Faraday, A.S. Tesla, A.S. Kepler, A.S. Davy, et cetera.

The Incubus

The Demon that lures women to bed and impregnates them? Now, that's a feisty name Tongue

I have a thing for the Ubuntu OS names. Not original in its original meaning, but still quite fitting for a Zeppelin as well, I think.

How does HMS Warty Warthog, HMS Hoary Hedgehog, HMS Breezy Badger, HMS Dapper Drake, HMS Edgy Eft, HMS Feisty Fawn, HMS Gutsy Gibbon or HMS Hardy Heron sound like?

The Incubus, because if you bother it.. you're screwed... (I didn't know if anyone would catch that or not.)

The Crimson Todger! no one would be safe!

On a side my girlfriends great aunt actually survived a zeppelin attack on London during the Great War she was blown across the house by the bomb blast, scary but infinitassimally impressive.

(Wrong word, I fear, unless you are deliberately understating. Infinitesimally means "in an incalculably small degree".)

Hello and thank you,

no indeed I'm quite new I was directed to this forum by the Contessa De Vestibule, another fine member here. It's delightful to have somewhere to discuss such things as zeppelin names as though an everyday occurrence Smiley

Hesse may have been a country, but that doesn't stop Hessian from being a type of material. It's what sacks are made out of.
Although, after googling it, I now discover it was also a type of soldier as well.

Washington... Hessians....  Their loss to our inferior forces is one of the more improbable stories of our Woah of Independence.

"Hessian mercenaries?  Are you sure, man?  Welll.... just in case, we'd better take the rifle and both bullets."

Hmmm... "Trouble Bubble" comes to mind, as does "Zephyrlin", but neither seriously.  Matters of such weight certainly deserve additional contemplation.
