Just got my bank statement...

Damn. I didn't realise I was so poor.

Anyone looking for a kidney? It's only had 22 years of light use... Honest... What hangover?

Didn't know where to put this one. Maybe a thread entitled: "Bittersweet"?

As some of you already know, my SO is slowly succumbing to cancer. In trying to help her out I'd put out ads to sell her motorcycle (she asked me to do it). Knowing that she would need the cash sooner than later, I put my motorcycle up for sale as well and told her that if mine sold first I would buy hers. Well, mine sold today and I brought her the cash she was asking for her bike. Win-win situation but I sure am going to miss my ride of six years. Luckily, her bike is still in good condition and could be used as a trade-in. So, GAH about the bike being sold but happy that I was able to accommodate someone not long for this earth.

Got woken up at 4am by a quake. Turns out it was a 5.9 quake in Italy, near Bologna, which was felt throughout Slovenia as well.

And haven't fallen asleep again.

Minor gah, but annoying nevertheless.

So the landlord flipped out about a table that has been in the same spot for the past 4 years saying that indoor furniture should not be outdoors....it is an old wooden outdoor table....  Given the technicalities of the finances, I am letting the table exactly where it is.  In fact I just put a candle holder on it this morning.  When I got the text the other day at work I didn't even realize what furniture was being talked about...when I finally realized I finally spoke my mind for the first time to this person in over 10 years.  It felt very good.

Oh, so that's where the Sun has been hiding lately.  I was beginning to wonder...  Undecided

Ever since I purchased those solar PV panels, I haven't seen our local main sequence stellar object for more than five minutes. Makes testing the panels output decidedly tricky! Roll Eyes
So yeah, no Sun....Gaahhghhh!!

My only complaint with the weather has been that two weeks ago I was going to the pet store from the museum to get my pay check.  When I left the museum I was narrowly avoiding a thunderstorm...I literally out-walked it.  Kinda a cool seen wearing a 3 piece suit with a black coach man's hat being following by a thunderstorm....  Well the air was nice and cool due to the storm winds.  By the time I got 2 miles into the next town the weather had changed to being hot, humid, and sunny.  (keep in mind I wearing a 3 piece WOOL suit....)  Now the weather has seemed to be set on being warm-hot, so no more mornings of being fooled into a wool suit.

Had appointment with RA doc, need new prescription for painmeds, so I can consider applying for a job. Got a letter in the mail notifying me of the cancellation of said appointment.
Called to reschedule: they restructure the clinic, one doc for all patients and no template out yet to reschedule any apointments as of yet. WTF?Huh
Flipping idiots. I need to go back to the damn hospital and talk to patient relations, AGAIN!!!
Sucks going to a teaching hospital. Can't wait for my approval for medicaid!
Cause then I can go to a "real" doctor, not those morons.

Weather's been it's usual irrational self here. It's always cold enough in the morning (well into summer) to wear a coat, yet hot as heck in the afternoon.

I really want to move away from here.

Gah for the day: Clouds have totally blocked the eclipse, which I was really looking forward to seeing. Sad

I've been at home with nowhere to go the entire weekend. And it was sunny as hell.

Today, when I actually have to leave within half an hour and won't return until the evening, it's raining cats and dogs.

Purchased two lenses at a flea-market yesterday. Along with some filters and lens caps. Back home I found out the lenses don't fit.  Angry
Now I have to sell them or find a way to make it work. (I prefer the latter, because otherwise I have to start looking for lenses all over again.)

I assume it's a camera? Is it possable to maybe design out a threading adapter pattern and see if some of the 3D printer/rapid prototyping companies could make a few for you?

Minor Gaah really, but waah Sad House M.D. is ending. The show that shaped so much of life is over. Another great show that'll be lost to time soon. Still if any of you gents and ladies are fans tune in to Fox tonight. For the series finale, so we can say goodbye to our favorite maverick doctor.

Can't go into details for legal reasons but someone whom I had assumed to be a reasonably sensible person turns out to be naive beyond all credibility, ignorant of some basic legal stuff that she was actually told but seems wilfully to have misinterpreted and is now coming on all 'poor little me' and expecting people like me (and we are not even vaguely close friends by the way) to pick up the pieces and pay her debts to avoid our club getting into a seriious legal pickle.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaargh doesnt actually cover it quite.

First of all, I hope your father gets well soon, Augustus.

There are actually adapters available, but expensive. I've asked on an analogue photography forum what to do. Their answer: sell the lenses and buy others that fit or buy other camera bodies that fit.  Undecided
I am thinking about making a negative mold out of silicone and fill that with resin to make an adapter myself. Trick is to not damage all components, both lenses and body.

OOOHHH yeah.... - I have one of those too, right in the top right quarter of my screen. It's just that bit tooo far down and tooooo far in from the side, that it makes it REALLY bloody visible all the time.  Angry

White pixels are the worst (they are bigger too - red + green + blue pixels combined), more so if like me you have a dark background....  Roll Eyes

Here at the Library we have something called 'online registration'. This means a member of the public emails us their name..they get an automated response with a temporary number giving them access to the Library catalogue and the opportunity to order material before they arrive in fact before they are even officially members. It also tells them to bring proof of ID and address with them when they come to the library  for the first time.
When they  get here, they fill out a proper registration form, show their proof of ID and current address and I give them a Library card to replace their temporary number and anything they ordered in advance is already waiting for them. Simples.

I get so pissed off with these arseholes who turn up  without sufficient proof of address and expect me to just  overlook the fact they haven't bothered to read the information in the email and issue them with a card all the same! They try and use a business card...or act all surprised when I say "Your passport doesn't have your address in it". They  produce a driving licence with a different address than the one they put on the form. Then they try the "But I've come all the way from  (insert far away place) to be here today"...and they didn't think it worth reading through the email  so that they wouldn't end up in exactly this situation?? I've heard it all in my time "Isn't there anything you can do?"..."I'll make it worth your while (wink-wink)"..."Don't you know who I am?".."I want to speak to your supervisor". I've even had "Oh I never got the email"...really? So how did you get the temporary number then? I've had people saying that I can "ring their landlord and he'll confirm it". It's not for me to find out, mush! It's for YOU to prove!

Why do they think we send them the email with everything they need to know about registering?
GAAAAAAHH!!!

Usually, the pixels that aren't black on white bg or white on black bg are just "stuck pixels" and can be unstuck with fast cycling of colours (there are apps for that online). Dead pixels, unfortunately, cannot be fixed. :/

Capt Dirigible; My Sympathies Sir.
It is a fact that too many people can't be bothered to get all the details correct when doing items like this.
My current "BugBear" our helpdesk has a Clear template to be completed for people to be asked when restores of Data are requested, Logical things like File Name, The Folder path, The Server they connect to, and the last known date that they had or used the file.
Today The Same Person has created the eighth job in a row without necessary portions of the details.

My Perambulator has Ejected the Ursine Comforter.
