Another one from the Brastech stables. This isn't going to be as close to the original as the DL-44, but hopefully it will be obvious what it's meant to be.

The barrel is two fly sprayers with the ends cut off and a section of a third. The nozzle is a light fitting, the butt cap from a regulator.

M18 scope

Rather than try and copy the M19 exactly, I've just tried to suggest the main aspects of it, the wide back end, tapering middle and off centre front.

I look forward to seeing this one completed.  I'm hunting for my own length of wide brass tubing/pipe for a project at the moment and it is definitely giving me problems.  I shall have to see if sectional is the way to go.

Great looking build, Brastech, I'll be watching with interest!

Or search out a suitable brass pump or garden spray...

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

I also can not wait to see this project completed. I am a dedicated and loyal Star Wars fan and also have been a member of 501st Legion since 2009. I have been wanting to create a steampunk TIE Fighter Pilot for years now and have a few of the items I need already.

One of these would be great to have!

Well that was a long night. It's taken 4 1/2 hours to fit the front stock clip, sling swivel and sight. Just need the barrel fins now and we're done, but it'll have to wait till its not 1:30 in the morning.

It's great when that happens, isn't it? Congratulations on an excellent, and speedy, project!

You must have quite the arsenal by now; tell me, are you planning to keep them all polished, or will you let them tarnish and gain a patina?

Probably the latter. They look super nice shiny, but it's a lot of work keeping them that way, and they look a bit more real with a patina

Probably what I'd do; an unrelated point, but I dream of taking some of my weaponry along to Antiques Roadshow and telling them we found them in grandad's attic, and we wondered what they were...

hahaha. I'm wondering how long it will be walking round Auckland on the way to the convention before i'm on the floor at the hands of the armed offenders squad. I'll probably make it onto the news at least.
