I thinking about purchasing these. I already have desert boots though (I wear them on a regular basis). I am going for a sort of a well-traveled Middle Eastern look for my pulp adventurer outfit, and I have been taking some inspiration from the WWII era Long Range Desert Group and Special Air Service.

The next poster will tell me whether they think I should stick with the desert boots or go for these (I would be wearing them with cargo pants, a bush shirt and vest, and a keffiyeh/ shemagh).

I'm partial to desert boots, but then I'm of the mind you can never have to many pairs of boots. Still it's your decision mate.

The next poster will give me advice on good books for learning to play the violin.

Can't  go wrong with Mel Bay's gargantuan list of how-to instrumentation books

Though, I learned teh most about the banjo from Wayne Erbsen's and Pete Seeger's books on the subject.

The next poster is flogging something with a bag of noodles!

Don't we all? But sometimes I carry on nefariously in front of closed doors as well.

The next poster doesn't care if the doors are open are closed, but carries on nefariously regardless.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Indeed I am. As I have yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that. I don't think I've even left the house for any significant period of time in about a week. Fortunately I will be leaving for some place with cooler weather tomorrow.

The next poster has a "world map" that shows a floorplan of their room (I am beginning to feel that way although I am desperate to go somewhere).

The next poster is going on a road trip soon.

I would love to go on a road trip, but sadly they've placed a 'freeze' on personal time off at work until August.  Embarrassed

Hmm...the next poster...knows a little something about phonographs...and may be willing to help identify the one we just purchased. Cheesy

I suppose I did say "a little something", so yes. Winner winner, chicken dinner as they say. And we do have a small collection of record albums, but nothing too terribly exciting. There is something quite endearing about that grooved vinyl.

The next poster...hmm...

The next poster has no plans for the weekend.

Banjo players are always joking...banjo makers never joke.

The next banjo player will post. (I know, I got that one backwards.)

Actually I make banjos (minstrel/plantation-style) as a hobby as well as play 'em. I guess I'm sort of anomalous.

The next poster thinks I was referring to animism...

No children yet, but I have a feeling they would be quite odd if I had any.

The next poster has incredibly, boringly, normal children.

Because of the overly dry weather, there is a ban in place on any type of open flame outdoors...and I don't care to fork out $1000 in cash or potentially spend 180 days in jail. I'm far too cute for jail. Smiley

The next poster has spent some time in the system...
