It sounds familiar but I can't place it.
The next poster helps me figure it out.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Nearly everything the man said or wrote.
(glad it was familiar and then recognized)
The next poster will join me in wishing good ol' Mr Jefferson a happy birthday.

No snow here, just rain, but I'm not complaining; this is Texas, which was so dry it was already burning about this time last year. I'm thinking about getting some big ziplock bags and making a rainman (as opposed to a snowman).
The next poster has already made a rainman and named it appropriately (or inappropriately, if you like).

No coffin for me. My lady and I want to be wrapped in some cloth and be planted in the ground under a tree on our own land. Let it grow from us and let that be a spot where the future generations come and have a bit of peace, perhaps a nice restful picnic.
The next poster thinks this is a great idea.

'course I do. Make it an apple tree. So the future generations can eat of us (that's the ticket to immortality, the plants and the animals passing us on).
The next poster is a bit disturbed by this thought.
