San Jose, CA (January 6th, 2012) – FanimeCon, in partnership with the Steam Federation, is proud to announce Clockwork Alchemy! This new additional convention for steampunk fans will be held during Memorial Day weekend, May 25th–28th, 2012, the same weekend as FanimeCon. A single membership will grant access to both FanimeCon in the San Jose Convention Center area and Clockwork Alchemy in the DoubleTree Hotel.

Clockwork Alchemy is a creative exploration of the world of steampunk, a fantastical past that never was but should have been. Steampunk is a world of incredible machines, daring heroes, bold inventors, mad scientists, and adventure at every turn, all set in a time when steam powered the world and the possibilities were endless!

The DoubleTree Hotel will host Clockwork Alchemy’s steampunk events: Experience the incredible Dirigible Races. Be amazed by displays of martial prowess. See the astonishing creations of artists, makers, inventors, builders and tailors as they display their works. Trip the light fantastic at our Gala Ball, be delighted by the sounds of talented musicians, and meet noted creative minds in the steampunk genre. Find once again the wonder and enchantment that you thought you’d lost when you were a child. Be transported to a time and place where, instead of being told, “No, you can’t,” you’ll ask, “How hard can it be?” At Clockwork Alchemy you’ll be a part of the exciting steampunk movement. Come let it surprise and delight you.

Discover more information about Clockwork Alchemy at www.fanime.com/clockworkalchemy. To register for the combined FanimeCon and Clockwork Alchemy membership, or to learn more about FanimeCon, please visit www.fanime.com.

If your primary reason for attending these events is Clockwork Alchemy please use promo code CA2012 when registering.

I'm going to try to go, but I may not be able to. So no promises, but if I do get the weekend off, would there be a need for volunteers? I live close by so I'm more than willing to go to meetings & such. PM me if there is a need

There is always a need for volunteers at every convention.  And Clockwork Alchemy like it's parent, Fanime, is run by fans for fans.  Feel free to check out the website for more information.

You only have to March 31st to pre-register.  Visit our site http://www.clockworkalchemy.com/ to check out the fun.  Friday night is the Wind-up Cabaret featuring Unwoman, Saturday night is Aural Alchemy with Unextraordinary Gentlemen, Vernian Process and more to be announced, and Sunday night is the Emperor Norton Ball, which starts with a proper Victorian Ball, then transition to a frolicking swing set with Lee Presson and the Nails, followed by DJs to finish up the night.  Plus all the panels, workshops, and fun that we can jam into one weekend.  AND your membership includes FanimeCon, a huge anime convention if you want to check that out.  Yes 2 conventions with 1 badge.  So get your membership now!!

Bump! http://www.clockworkalchemy.com/ Clockwork Alchemy 2012 is happening this Memorial Day weekend for 4 days at the Doubletree in San Jose, CA. Held with Fanimecon, Northern California's oldest anime event, Clockwork Alchemy promises a "glorious celebration of all things steampunk". I'll be in the Artist Bazaar touting my book, The Dark Victorian: RISEN, illustration prints, and accessories. Please come down and have fun, hunt a fox that shoots back, race an airship, do some dancing, and maybe even some time traveling. See you there! Smiley

We'll be there with the Aetheric Message Machine Company's telegraph office. Send free telegrams to your friends at Clockwork Alchemy!  Our machines will print them and our messengers will deliver them.

All the brass was polished with Brasso today, before packing up the equipment.

Look for us near the lobby.
