Hello there!
I've been searching far and wide for Brass rings for the front of a pair of scratch built Goggles
escutcheon's seem a bit too thick rimmed,
I'm going for a slightly military look,
Any information much appreciated.

Most of the ones I've seen are plated steel pressings or 'muck metal' die castings. Maybe Harrods??

If you can solder, it's easy enough to make lens-retaining rings from brass sheet and wire. I scored for a large coil of 14ga. brass wire from a crafts supplier a while back that is well-suited for this.

Old purses from Salvation Army and Goodwill stores are another good source for plain brass rings. They're usually used to hold the shoulder strap on.

Though its a bit of a coin toss when it comes to finding an exact size.

Are you looking for actual lens parts? There are a baffling amount of plumbing pipe couplings/extensions etc that could be cut and adapted if you can find them large enough. Solid brass anything does tend to be pricey though.

Well the keyhole surround pops right off and at 1.25 each solid brass I don't think it can get much easier!
And as they will be keeping my hats on  Wink
My initial idea was to get the keyhole surround x2
and insert an aperture blade or just brass radiator grill over lenses
As they will be worn on a hat for a slightly steam punk militarily look
I also have some good thick leather to bolt in with a few bolts around the diameter of the brass ring

Those keyholes are giving me ideas. 50mm is exactly the lens size of my welding goggles. It may make an interesting look, turned sideways and backed by either welding lenses or red plexiglass.

Okay... but why the secrecy? I doubt they're going to sell out, and it's actually fairly easy to backtrack the picture link and just find it on the site.
