Just wondering if there are any events or gatherings or even gathering spots in the Portland area? I am back in town now and new the the Steampunk world. I would just like to meet and talk with like minded people.

Any thoughts???

There are at least two different steampunk groups in Portland.  Rose City Steampunks is the first that comes to mind.  But really, a simple google search for "portland steampunks" will get a lot of results.

An article about Portland's steampunk community:

This is all from the first page of the google search, except for the Rose City Steampunks, which I knew about from my own search upon moving to Oregon.  Also, here's the Brass Goggles Portland thread:  http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9418.0.html

Portland is one of the top places for Steampunk in the states, arguably the top place on the west coast (although there are other contenders).  There are a lot of different mindsets when it comes to steampunk, but do-it-yourself is a huge part of the culture.  This attitude applies to being able to do basic research.  That's probably why you didn't get an answer to your question.
