Sorry, it's fixed.
I can't have my character(s) describe the terrain around the camp, since someone else asked to do so.
Corsair, Have we heard from Shipwright re the camp and terrain yet?

Hm, now that you mention it no...
Has he posted anything since we asked that of him? We might be best served carrying on without him until he does decide to appear.
I'll give you the all-clear to describe terrain then, but bear in mind I previously mentioned it was essentially a large plain (which is why escapees are so easy to catch)

I think I should also mention I had a dream about this game, only Bailey was a woman...
I assure you, that incident in Singapore was all a misunderstanding.

If it isn't already to late to join, I have a premise for a character, although I'm not quite sure he'll fit in with the setting. Basically, he's a French Canadian frontiersman ("Pierre Francois Jacques Chevalier") who was drafted into to the military and is now a sniper. He personality is characterized by eccentric and antisocial behavior brought on by years of isolation and solitude in the wilderness. Despite being largely self-educated, he is highly literate, but he doesn't like to show this side of himself.
I'm still trying to decide what his weapons and equipment are, but his main armament is definitely some kind of hunting rifle.
Please let me know if this character will work for this setting.

I think it could work but I am not sure how it would fit in the current game. you might ask The Corsair he is running this game.
Speaking of I cant remember if I asked but would anyone mind if wmb and I ran the next game? It will be in london and we are going to lay some foreshadowing in this game for it.

I guess Shipwright wasn't able to post after all. I'll make the relevant post (unless someone else wants to) sometime this evening or afternoon (I have to go and get a badly-scratched eyeglass lens replaced, been waiting a week and the prescription blanks finally came in)

Well you may want to pm Corsair because he is running this game but the two options I see are as a prisoner in Russia or you may be in Finland about to be swept up in Starling's magical storm test.

Woops. Ignore my PM response then Madd.
I think if you want to keep your character's originality and personality (and weapons of course) you're best off being in Finland methinks. It's hard to get snakes into Russian work prisons...

I've hopefully used a reasonable distance for the shockwaves etc from the storm.

Judging by the side-effects of wizardly messing with the weather outlined in books such as those from The Belgariad etc. et al, I'd say its a reasonable distance.
Now, I wonder what kinds of things they'll set loose when the Marigold dioes that in Russia?
MUA HAHAHAHAHA*CHOKE* cough wheeeze...

Dr Madd if you want I can write that you were picked up and deposited on the ship in the storm. I think it could make for a dramatic introduction.
Dun dun DUN! I wonder just who that person plotting revenge could be?

Make it so. I added some filler till you do so. He's looking for the Alma in Russia, so he has a reason to be there.

Pardon the double post.
Marigold (AKA Ringelblume) now has an excuse to be in Russian Airspace, and might be in port in Novgorod at about the same time as Dr. Madd's ship. There's also a potential way into the camp, if we decide to use it.
Don't despair, Cap'n Wallace, there may still be a landfall in the clearing.

is it a public zeppelin? If so, I'll be on board it.

It's ok Talbot posing as the major in the engineering corp can meet you at the aerodrome as part of a military detail of engineers to assist in repairs and have a chat and supply you with some Russian uniforms before sending you on your way (To the clearing)

Captain Wallace:
You seem to be determined to write the plot for the rest of us. The rest of us don't get a say? I don't know how you've acted in RPs elsewhere, but stomping all over other people's plots and plans is not how we prefer to do things around here. Just because it seems better to you to have the plot go a certain way does not mean that it's really a better idea, and especially does not mean that it has to be that way. There is give and take here. You need to work with the rest of us, not try to determine the plot all by yourself.
