It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Hopefully he's OK. Not sure how long to give him to respond. A day? Three? Five? I don't mean to rush things much, but if doesn't respond, maybe we ought to list him as MIA...

Not to sure if this is what Corsair is coming to, i think if he gets captured by the russians the obvious next mission is a prison break/ rescue so that he cannot disclose valuable information to the russian high command. I was going to suggest he was taken to the st Pietersburg's Russian Military command building or something of the like?

That would be the gist of the idea I had for part 4. Sound good guys?

That sounds about right. Might ought to look up what the actual location was at that time, which Czar, etc.

Got a post up thankfully Talbot is fluent in Russian and can help to Keep Rooney alive for now,

Mikhailovich is the son of an arch duke (Very noble) he'll be taking Rooney (and Talbot) to where ever they end up and at some point Talbot will get a message to those who need it to mount a rescue mission

Unbeknownst to everyone else, Sgt. Schweik* of the crew of the stricken Juggernaut tank in the factory, has survived as well. Not sure If I ought to bring him into this episode.

--------------------
*yes, a nod to the Czech "Good Soldier Schweik," from the dark comedy by Jaroslav HaĊĦek (Haven't read it yet, except for bits and snatches here and there. I found a .pdf of it awhile back but lost the link). There is (was?) a popular folk song about Schweik as well, but I haven't found it posted anywhere since the late 90's.

never mind all of that drivel til next episode.

Is our Russian PC a senior officer? I took him to be a crewman Talbot is posing as a Major and would have the right to remove Rooney to where ever he chose (I.e England) I had an even more senior officer turn up to scupper that idea after reading you wanted to run a rescue mission for Rooney. Having Talbot looking out for him is going to prolong his survival isn't it?

A slight edit with Talbot preparing Rooney for transport and speaking with Mark's character while looking for a driver to take Rooney where ever.

Let's keep in mind that this is the end of this episode, and try not to create too many NPC characters that would need to be carried over into the next episode. Incidentally-encountered 'throwaway' characters would probably be okay, as long as they don't hang about for more than one or two posts. Good candidates for 'throwaway' status would be the Russian Major, the driver, the escort, etc. Perhaps Talbot could drop the Major act and disappear into the tall and uncut and watch Rooney's progress from there(?). That situation would/could obtain until after the start of the next episode; sort of a "cliffhanger," as it were.

Rooney's plight, etc. are plot facets that were planned rather far in advance. The arrival and interaction of the Major is interesting and a wonderful idea, but as others are expressing an inability to continue at present, it might be in our mutual best interest to downsize, so to speak, that character and the escorting scene, and end this episode so that we can start up again afresh with the new episode with whoever wants to/is able to continue. The trip to the Gulag (or whatever its called at the relevant point in history) could serve as either a 'between' story or part of the intro to the new episode.

Thoughts?

Also, I am unconscious and severely injured so don;t try and write me in as walking anywhere

I agree with Bailey, by the way, we should probably try and avoid bringing in NPC's in general because they become dead weight fairly quickly and we do need to wrap up this game so the whole 'pretending to be a major' sequence, though a good idea, may not be reasonable at this point

The Corsair & MWBailey: I don't know if you realized but what Issa and Hawthorne did was retrieving intelligence about the background of this factory. Feel free to include details in your story if you like or if you want me to write something, PM me with your ideas.
In any case, a copy of the information will be sent to the respective offices in Berlin and London.

Dulcimer Society Meeting today, across town at a member's house. Not a problem, and despite what you may have seen on the news, the weather is actually pretty standard for Houston -- but locals seem to have forgotten how to drive in torrential downpours (and the transplants never seem to learn), which fact will make the drive interesting to say the least. I'm going to have to start getting ready in a few moments and will be gone probably until 9 or 10 PM Central US time this evening.

I'll make another post this evening around that time, or Sunday AM.

So what is our next game going to be.  I have an idea for one that will be a good deal different than the rest but should still be fun but I can run that whenever.

The next game will be something of a rescue mission seeing as Talbot and I are now stuck in Russia under military guard. It will also give us an opportunity to have Adrik join the group on its future missions. I'll set up the game thread once everyone finishes off their arcs for this game and we're ready to go.

I was under the impression that the next would be to rescue Rooney from the gulag, hopefully before he talks. I'm open to other suggestions, however, if that turns out not to be the case.

Please pardon the hasty edit.
