One of the downsides of Starling's new power is she had become a bit of a weirdness magnet. As things tend to sense she is not normal and flock over to check her out. So far it has only been little things but it can be used however you all like.

Well, that was to be expected, wasn't it? Asking a German to sabotage the Germans! *g*
But it is in Issa's interests (quite obviously so), that Germany and Britain don't evolve from rivals into enemies.

I was wondering how Issa would feel about the mission. I think you handled it quite well Ms. Adler.

The point is - the fact that she's loyal, doesn't mean she follows orders blindly. That's why she threw her lot in with the Marigold crew instead of sabotaging them - she saw the danger of Germany acquiring the disease as a weapon and thought that too dangerous. In her eyes, she was loyal to her country, by abandoning or even sabotaging them. Of course, her former superiors have a different view of that matter. The current situation is very much the same. She doesn't blindly follow orders, she tries to do what is right. She may get it wrong on occasion, she's only human!

And the worst textual brogue in the history of RPing makes its dubious debut! (lol). If the info about the expat mercenaries is too much, I can remove it and rewrite.
Interesting Vamp angle.
Rourke's been doing some vamp hunting himself (The between story will probably shed some light on that) with a cross-timing airship and captain from the future (and a few dimensions to the left), sort of jointly for both Mina (the Nadir Court) and Her Imperial Majesty. His blood sample has been awakened since exposure to Handthorpe's soul energy and that of the Nubian Mummies, so a few of his "bats" are coming home to "roost," so to speak.
Also, I'm thinking that since Rourke and maybe Issa as well both have a bit of the blood of a Noble Vamp (Mina, and thus Vlad Drakuul/Dracula) in their veins, the local Russian branch of the Sanguinarian Diner's Club (sic) will be able to detect their 'taint,' so to speak.

Oh, I doubt that's anywhere near the worst brogue that's ever been typed out. I've been resisting the urge to try and write Redburn's Southern drawl; its not all that strong typically though. He's spent a fair bit of time away from the plantation, but the accent still resurfaces on occasion.

Speaking of languages: Corsair (or anyone else for that matter), if you ever need any sentences or expressions translated into German, just PM me! I always imagine Redburn with a Southern drawl. And Rourke's accent is hilarious, though sometimes I have to read twice! I couldn't do a German accent if my life depended on it. I tried and failed miserably. Funny enough, I can imitate an Indian accent. Must be all those calls to callcenters...
Most likely!

I don't even think the queen could get starling to leave Betsy behind. I am imagining that the vamps will be able to tell that something is off with Starling and visa versa.

Sorry That can always be a red herring. I have been watching too much scariest places on earth and the female voice over actor keeps saying Strigoi is a slight southern accent and it is amusing. Well at least is is when you are on lots of allergy meds.

Hahaha. It shouldn't be a problem to have there but it will have to be in lieu of Greenies (too many strange beasts will start to over-complicate the story and we'll run 20+ pages long)

I'm always up for some vampire hunting. Vampires also have more of a Russian feel to them; I think it fits excellently.

Can't say I'd intended it to be that at all (and tbh it is something that excludes those of us not so rehearsed in all the lore) I also had not intended to drag the vamp hunting into the main thread; it was supposed to be a between story thing only for Rourke (it's where his commission was to have come from, by way of Mina's influence, rather than from the Nubian affair) with just a few weird little quirks and maybe a strange ability or two in the main story, but nothing really high-powered. Going that way now is fine with me if that's what everybody else wants, though.

If we're putting it down to 'majority rules' then I'll say now I'd rather not make it about vampires. It would seem to me like we're trying to substitute our series-unique monster (the greenies) for something that is becoming a bit overdone. Also, it would be trying to cram a bit too much in (we'd have to come up with a whole origin thing for the vamps to weave in to the story).
So yeah, I vote no vampires

I changed Rourkes offer to talk to Mina about Strigoi to an offer to talk to Ing about "esoteric equipment." I'd say stick with the greenies (or course, I would say that, they being at least partly my idea ). Use vamp elements from the previous story, and ongoing character dev., but not as the focus of the storyline, is my recommendation/vote.

Well if its coming to a vote I think The Corsair makes a fair point, but I also think that vampires can be used sparingly while letting the main menace be the greenies. At this point the Strigoi are a rumor, not a fact yet, at least in the current story. So their actual presence is technically up to the Gamemaster.

I.. - didn't realize we have to have Greenies in every story - thought that Corsair was GMing this one? - am fine with vampires, haven't ever met a strigoi, sounds interesting - wonder, what this is all about? Seriously, if Corsair is GMing and doesn't want vampires, then there won't be any. Although - I just had the crazy idea, we could incorporate the odd local vampire into our stories now and then. China has vampires too. Hopping ones! Nah! No vamps! Fine! Can we go on writing? Please?

As a note Strigoi are not your usual Count Dracula type vampire they are more akin to Ghouls who feast on blood, in the true sense of the word Strigoi and what little I actually have on them they'd be considered degenerates to your usual vampire types.
They are likened to zombies in a lot of the bits with them draining the victim before feasting on the piled corpses at a later date.
As far as being involved in games I leave to the GM.
I would echo Walkthebaseline in saying they are more Russian/Romanian,
I only added it because Starling mentioned them and Talbot has been looking into vampires for Starling in game.

Added my opening statements. Hawthorne is never going to talk business with the Prime Minister, he loathes politics and establushed his Gentleman's club so he could drink brandy yet avoid tedius conversations about political matters. The "game" conversation went something like this.
"Gladstone?"
"Yes Lord Alexander?"
"I will quite happily vote any bill you fancy through the Lords with the understanding that this is the last conversation about Politics we ever have. The minute we talk business, I start voting in favour of Disraeli. Agreed?"
"Sounds reasonable."
"Captial, shall I see you at the club later?"
"I'm afraid not Hawthorne, I am a guest of her majesty this evening"
"You too? Excellent! We can share a carriage to the club afterwards"
