(last double-post, promise ) Here's a character profile: Name: William Raleigh Age: 27 Origin: Was a student of metaphysics and supernatural studies at the Miskatonic University for almost two years, before an 'incident' involving a ritual from a manuscript normally forbidden to students resulted in him (and several others) becoming werewolves, and later caused his expulsion from the university. Most of his close family disowned him after he was expelled from the university (among other things, due to the fact that one of the other students who became a werewolf was the son of a powerful senator.) He has since been unable to find much in the way of regular work, and has spent the past several years working on various civilian airships. Having survived being struck by lightning twice during his time in the sky has left him with some gaps in his memory and several interesting scars (as well as a slightly short temper and a few eccentricities.) Occupation: (to be determined) Cover occupation: (to be determined) skills: Student of the supernatural (mostly self-taught) and knows a lot about werewolves and other shapeshifters (being one helps.) Has no specific magical talents, other than those that come from being a werewolf. Familiar with most kinds of civilian airships and thier operations. Fearless around heights, and so far has failed to learn much from past experiences with storms. Very good shot with his favorite shotgun, and most other long guns. Skilled in repairing and maintaining his shotgun and similar weapons, but has little other mechanical knowledge. Collects empty cartridges and reloads his own ammunition, and likes to experiment with different loads for special purposes. (slugs, flares, incendiaries, etc.) weapons: A modified italian-made 12-guage shotgun with a six-round revolving cylinder. (Similar to the lower one here: http://wweapons.blogspot.com/2011/03/5-shot-revolving-shotgun-mod-weird.html ) Has two interchangeable barrels, a 28-inch barrel for long-range shooting (up to about 200 yards, depending on the load) and a lighter 18-inch barrel. (accurate range of about 50-75 yards) Folding knife with a three-inch blade, but used more for utility than as a weapon. equipment: Basic traveling gear, a few changes of clothes and other necessities (Used to traveling light most of the time.) Reloading supplies, and several cartridge belts. Usually carries a variety of special cartridges as well as regular ammunition. Here's Will: (wolf form in background) --- I'll try to write an intro tomorrow, tonight I have to study for (yet another) hydraulics test.

Just something to note for you Alexis Talbot would be well known to English werewolves and more likely disliked, he's hunted them in the past exterminating an entire pack in dartmore at one point in his past, he also more recently did the same in Paris and hasn't come away from that encounter as cleanly as he might like (Not that he's becoming a werewolf but he is taking precautions after being injured hence the silver nitrate laced things he drinks)
Being as your character is American he may or may not have heard of him

The Constantina was (apparently) delivering gunpowder to someone covertly, unknown to any of her crew. The current GM can integrate this into the story if they'd like, if not I'll leave it just as an intro. (and if it's too implausible for any reason I can change it. I don't know European history all that well, so if I make any mistakes here or in the future feel free to tell me.)
-
Also, here's a quick addition to my character's skills section:
Werewolves' primary supernatural sense is scent-oriented; in addition to a heightened ability to detect normal scents, they can detect the supernatural 'imprints' left by living things and some magical objects. Thier ability to track animals and people over great distances, even long after the normal scent trail has faded is legendary, although thier senses are normally not active on this level unless they are at least partially transformed.

Would the Constantina have been cruising close to Bledsoe's And the Life-blimp's position (above the area just west of the border of Poland and Ukraine)?
If so, Bledsoe would be more or less honor-bound to check out the explosion and search the wreckage for survivors (but although the blimp is armed, it's too lightly armed to take on the ship that destroyed the Constantina).

Yes, my idea was for the Constantina to be near that area. The pirates that destroyed the Constantina was just checking out the wreck for anything of value they could salvage, as well as to see if there were any survivors from thier own crew (since they had been in the process of disabling and boarding the Constantina when the first explosion occurred.) The second explosion on the ground would probably convince them to leave the area quickly. (My original idea was that the ship would have been damaged by the explosion, but on reconsideration it's unlikely that they would have been quite that close.)

Hey guys! I would like to join in the rp of the New World. I know I should make a profile post here in the OOC to apply but I kind of wanted to design a character that fit to what the story needed instead of just implementing a random who might not match as well. Do you think there is any possibility of joining?

How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

I'll be performing at the San Jacinto Battle ground all day today (Saturday, 4-21-2012;in period costume, of course) with the North Harris County Dulcimer Society and Bay Area Dulcimer And Strings Society, so I probably won't get to post 'til late evening.

Hmmm... Well, we'll have to see what we can work out to deal with that issue. It's not as if we absolutely have to go at a blazing scorching pace.

It shouldn't be that big of a problem, since it's not that long of a walk into town if all else fails. Weather and other issues might prevent me from being able to come in every once in a while though. (I thought I might have been coming down with a cold yesterday, but it seems to have just been allergies.)
