Good Lord, I go to a party and everyone starts speaking German. Redburn will probably not be speaking German if he (and I) can help it. He'd rather "masquerade" as a rich American citizen.
Don't vorr, er, worry, I was just joking. Rourke'll be playing the Irish expat merc., like he said. Gotcha. Well it'll be fun however it turns out!

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Another piece of background story for Issa added in the "Between" stories. In which we get to meet her family - some of them. All places mentioned are real & historically correct by the way. Here's a picture of the street corner I mentioned: Today, there are no cafés on that corner anymore, but a bank and the Daimler Benz showroom I believe. Times change..

I wonder if Starling will have to meet Mina face to face at some point. I imagine she would be interested in Starling particular change and there might even be a history between vamps and mummies.

Oh, there's bound to be a history of some kind, I'd think, sinc ethe vamps of teh court are just some of the court; most of the supernatural creatures of London (save perhaps for the faeries, who're probably another whole self-contained society allied to the crown) would probably look to Mina as a sort of representative. Another immortal presence in Town woudl probably make it a given that the two would eventually meet on some level.

That might be a fun side story to write. Starling and Redburn's side story is up. It is long but I think it is worth it.

Some more of Rourke's story is up as well. only one more short installment and it'll be complete. Maybe... No offense intended with the border guardsmen's accents.

Chaps, I'm going to go quiet for the next week or so, I've got very busy and will unlikely had time during the day to post, so so Cpt Wallace can we write me out for now and I'll come back in when I get less busy at a dramatic point in the story (maybe on a chandelier)

We can always assume Hawthorne is there* and you'll come back with a bang whenever you feel like it / find the time. I may be going a bit quiet this week too; I'm starting my new job tomorrow plus I'll be really busy when I come home (have to feed the housemates this week) and won't find time for myself and my computer until late. Don't know how creative I'm going to be, I need to adjust. *we just drag you along - I suppose you have seen "

(I really need to write things out. Working it out piecemeal is confusing!)

I have a word document with random things I have figured out about Starling. It helps keep my thoughts in order. I want to write about her mother at some point because she is the reason Starling fought so hard for her place in the medical field.

metaphysics question here; are the faeries all in one court, ior are there seelie (light and mostly benevolent) and unseelie (dark and nonbenevolent or benevolent only at a high and dangerously-misleading price) courts as in the traditional lore? just a side point, for reference-- but which court does Talbot align with?

I'm going to say separate courts Seelie ruled by Queen Titania and Unseelie ruled by Queen Mab
Talbot is no longer aligned to neither court but has in the past served Queen Mab.

The whole live woodpecker thing is based on something one of my cats did last winter. For some reason known only to them they brought me a live rather miffed female woodpecker at 6:30 in the morning and then acted rather shocked when I let it go outside and locked them in my room with me to go back to sleep.

But, you were supposed to eat it while they watched and shared with them, then patted them on their heads and said, "nice, good kitties."!

I have always imagined when cats do things like that it's not "That's a present for you from me to say thank you." (Which is what it's supposed to mean) But "Can you cook that for me please?"

That is precisely what it means. You're the big cat, mama, alpha-cat, whatever. But for some reason, you're incapable of hunting. So they do it for you. They care for you! I always praised my cats when they had brought me a present, then I got rid of it without them noticing. No use in hurting their feelings.
