It's not a lazer, it's a Portable Light Emitting Battlefied Medical Device.
A P.L.E.B. Device if you will.

It's a Wreak Maximum Havoc Device -you can't fool me! It's just for performing surgery. At 100 yards. Yes it might be shaped like a gun, but that's just an ergonomic design.

It's just for performing surgery.
At 100 yards.
That description is beautiful in its simplicity.

How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

OK, now we're having an arms race, apparently. Rourke's just going to stick with standard-issue airship personnel-deloyed artillery. (MWA ha ha ha haaaaa...)
Talbot doesn't have the right to hunt fellow crewmembers, does he? Seems to me, if he does, then they should have the right to hunt him...

We love our acronyms don't we? Hmmm, not sure if PLEB device quite beats the SWAG gun My Acronym's bigger than yours is (neener neener neeeeeeener): ATLATL: Assault Tactical Land/Air Torpedo launcher. Used for carrying the Marigold's and other rocket torpedo-equipped ships' torpedo rockets into the field. Notorious for their backblast knocking their operators on their arses, but superb against hard targets... (idea comes from a B-movie about attack helicopters starring Nicholas Cage). Literally, a spear-thrower...

No Talbot doesn't have the right to hunt crew members, he has leave to eliminate any and all threats to crown and country, he is aware of the "special" elements that serve the country and so long as they don't pose any threat to Crown he can't touch them. And while having never met Mina Harker he is aware of her and her presence within the underworld of London, So the "vampires" are quite safe they are not about to be shot by Talbot, besides he may have to shoot himself if he took that stance...

Issa is not a vampire. She merely agreed to become one, after her (most likely) untimely death. She appears completely normal, has no special powers (except in very dire situations) and except for Rourke, no one even knows about her connection to the vampires yet. Especially NOT Hawthorne! All he knows is, she met Mina Harker and after that, everything was fine, according to what Issa told him. Yes, she lied to him. So if anyone of the crew comes along and treats Issa's vampire taint and close connection to vampires as anything else than a secret... well, there might be trouble! I would prefer, if you distinguish between what you know and what your characters know. If Issa wants to tell anyone about her new 'career options', she'll do it herself.

I don't think Talbot has made any comments about Issa being a "vampire" so far only he's aware of Rourke being one because of handthorpe's taunt in the last RP.
Talbot may have his suspicions about Issa being bitten in Egypt but she is otherwise not showing any signs of anything unusual
As for Talbot himself he is most defiantly not a vampire
*Edit
I confess my German Grammar may not be up to scratch but if I recall what Talbot's said is rightish

My comment regarding not to give Issa's secret away was mostly pre-emptive. As for the German... um, no offense, but... well, it was pretty close. A near miss. "Guten morgen captain, wie stehen sie heute?" - if you meant to say "how are you?" the correct sentence would be "Guten Morgen Kapitaen, wie geht es Ihnen heute?" "Ich sehe, dass sie die Waffen entfernt haben und wechseln Sie für etwas weniger englisch." - I think you mean the weapons have been exchanged? "Ich sehe, Sie haben die Waffen entfernt und gegen etwas weniger englische ausgetauscht." Hope that doesn't upset you, German is one of the most complicated languages ever invented! I'm glad I don't have to learn it! Speaking of languages - I am aware that I probably make mistakes all the time and don't notice them. Usually people are too polite to comment. But I'm in fact glad, if someone points these things out to me - I'm learning!

I get the feeling when Starling tries to speak German she is going to come off as sounding like a jagermonster from Girl genus or lily von stoop from blazing saddles.

Don't vorry, sveethot! Hey, this is fun! I can do Jägermonster! I usually work around languages I don't know too well... I use a few, simple words that I know and then, for more complicated expressions, I write things like "she said in italian.... "

It wouldn't be too bad, if I didn't know someone who speaks like that. Several people in fact. I fled the country, to get away from bad German accents - and now they come round and bite me in the posterior!

Pardon th edouble post, yet again. edited Rourke's speech about Ing for 'compromising' content. Talking so openly about Mina might cause undue speculation on the part of others.

Ah, just reread the game thread. Well, we'll see how well Redburn speaks German. Probably better than his Russian anyway. He'd really prefer to pose as an American agent, but that would probably risk an awkward international incident.

Good Lord, I go to a party and everyone starts speaking German. Redburn will probably not be speaking German if he (and I) can help it. He'd rather "masquerade" as a rich American citizen.
Don't vorr, er, worry, I was just joking. Rourke'll be playing the Irish expat merc., like he said.
