Sorry if I'm foiling plans, Bailey, I went for what I thought Joe would really do in that situation (flaunting his loyal streak and all)

I think I should also mention I had a dream about this game, only Bailey was a woman...

I assure you, that incident in Singapore was all a misunderstanding.

Lovely, a shortcut to monsters! I LOVE that creepy, crawly creature already!
I'll leave it to Private Weasel, if we jump in after you - foolhardy actions are his area of expertise!  Grin

But I think Issa may jump in after Rooney, especially when she hears shooting. She's got that protective, loyal streak too. The words on her family crest must be "Not On My Watch!" or something like that.

As you might have guessed from my absence, I've been a bit ill recently.  Hopefully this has now passed and I've jumped back into the story to make it more difficult dramatic for us by making the mummy hordes essentially bullet proof Cheesy  Also quite resilient to swords.

You're welcome Cheesy

There's a difference between making bullet holes in the mummy like Hawthorne did and blowing the mummy's head off with Betsy Smiley

I'm slightly confused - are we (Hawthorne & Issa) now down with Rourke and Rooney as well? Is the mummy that attacks Hawthorne the same that R&R just saw crawling out of the sarcophagus? Or is there now more than one?

Just wanted to ask, before I go into mummy shredder mode.

EDIT: uh-oh, Private Weasel strikes again! this just keeps getting better and better...

It's the same mummy, however there are other mummies, who are now awakening.  Oh and the one I just "killed" isn't "dead", he's going to start climbing up the pit in a minute

I can only think of very inappropriate responses to that, so I simply say: Thank you!

...oh and that mummy down in the pit (if it is the same, Rourke saw) is
1. a woman (well, used to be) and
2. a level-boss (I suppose).

Once again, gone all day. Not sure how much I'll be on tonight either. I'll be back at work tomorrow though, so I'll have more time on the computer.

Ms. Gaslight, I hope you don't mind that I basically kept Starling by Redburn's side.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

I originally intended it to be the wife of the Priest (Priestess?), so yeah, sort of a level-boss; but be careful with her; as Rob Zombie says, "There's only one sure way to bring the giant down..."

Wait a minute, who's this Hawkwood chap that's obviously standing next to Issa?  He seems like a lovely chap.

Handthorpe's behavior is in character only. As I said, he's a bastard.

Now he's at least partly a vampiric bastard.

Does that mean he *ahem* ... 'sucks?' Cheesy

Indeed. Stuffing a couple grenades down his throat sounds like a good idea about now.

Without knowing exactly how you're handling vampires in the game, I'm acting like I'm in World of Darkness, i.e. vampires have a strong resistance to gunfire but take damage from swords and other blades more like humans, although they have strong regeneration across the board.

I'm taking his as a thrall. A human infused with vampiric powers, strength, speed, resilience but ultimately still human just much harder to put down permanently.

Well he just took a shotgun shell to the throat, and I said he was still fighting. Not impossible I suppose, although if he was a Ghoul in the WoD sense he would have burned a lot of Vitae to keep fighting.
