Morgan Redburn in all his mismatched finery.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

~ David St. Hubbins

Mr Rooney, looking as described. Definitely the most plain of the bunch.

Still here, just quieter

Looks like it'll fly...

Hopefully You won't be offended or disappointed by my adaptation of your idea, Ms. Adler.

Please pardon pardon my use of wingpacks, Corsair; they're just fixed-wing strap-on gliders with tiny petrol motors (like it said at the beginning, this world does have the first glimmerings of Internal Combustion tech)

Ahh not an issue. Mine is an experimental something designed for sustained flight so it would be far away in terms of design from those you've imagined up undoubtedly.

It's always important when somebody is trying to steal the airship that you've already boarded to change into the appropriate footwear, especially if the footwear you're currently wearing will be being attacked by the British in just less than 24 hours.

Oh what fun!

And afterwards their diplomats will have one hell of a time to sweep everything under the carpet again, so that it doesn't lead to that spark, that sets all Europe aflame.
And we're in the middle of it all.
At least, it doesn't get boring!  ;D

But if Mary needed yet another reason (she didn't!) to hand in her resignation, the entrance of the prussian troops was it.
Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary. (Cecil Beaton)

Ah ha! Take that Prussian Army! Try landing on an airship that's lost automatic altitude! I suspect the Prussians might stick, not plummeting out of the sky as a priory if they do manage to land.  Of course, I've just endangers the newly ungreenified crew, but you can't make an omelette without... erm... killing a few people.

well, actually it's automatic attitude, but its not that important. Or rather it is in real life terms, but in the abstract, not so much; we all know what was meant.

Anyway, things'r getting hectic around here at home, and it may be evening before I can post again. Go ahead and take the plot wherever you want to, and i'll tie it all up in bows and frills when I get back on . No need to rush to an ending, though it'd be good to hea din that general direction.

Hey, the way I saw it, if the bad guys pull these levers to straighten us out, Hawthorne pulls them in reverse to un-straighten us.  More over, what’s more dramatic than climbing through the ducts of an airship than climbing through the ducts of a stricken airship that’s about to fall out of the sky?  If only it was on fire, but I suppose we’re not that lucky :p

I can't help it; the people who got me into roleplaying are completely insane, and its rubbed off over the years. I actually think I've been somewhat restrained thus far. ;)

It reminds me very much of my old tabletop RP group.
My designated role within that bunch was "the voice of reason" btw.  ;D

I didn't play much but I was known as the quirky one that used magic in ways the creators never intended.  I miss my elven librarian with power over paper.

Power over paper?

O.O

That sounds SO amazingly overpowered. Why did we never think of that?

She had origami fa milers powered by elementals and was tasked with finding late returns from the grand Libra and handing out late fees.  She was pretty much a magical library commando.

Having worked at a library for a while, I am very jealous. Librarians are awesome.

That makes me think of the anime R.O.D. (Read or Die) the TV. An example of the Paper Masters' Kata:

Yup I watched the movie on cartoon network ages ago and filed it away in my brain.  We were very over powered in that game.  I had to get a book back from a god.  Darn phone is auto correcting all kinds of weird stuff so I turned spell check off so sorry if I have some odd spellings.

What book and from what god? I once had to steal the Necronomicon, but it hadn't been claimed by a god yet.

I can't imagine why. Although in fairness a bard might have been better suited to that mission.

Actually most of the players I've played with would have simply killed Hades and taken over his job.
