Hey haven't posted in a while im going to post more from now on. so heres my latest project I don't know if its generally "steampunk" as such but it does have a Victorian theme behind it anyway I thought I would share it with you guys it is my take on Alice in wonderland the mummified edition. I have plans to make 3 characters Alice, The Cheshire cat and the rabbit maybe more but for now im focusing on these 3
Alice is almost finished now just got a few tweeks to do on her and also ive got to decorate the box she is placed in the inside is padded out like a coffin (I use this padding effect quite a lot its very effective and fairly simple) but I want to paint the box with flowers and such maybe a tea party scene on it not sure yet. The story of Alice is that she drank the shrinking juice and ate the growing cake at the same time so remained at a 1/4 of human size meaning she couldn't fit though the small door so she starved to death in the room she was trapped in many years later her mummified body was found and put up for display. Anyway heres some progress pictures
alice booted leg front view

Alices booted leg side view

Alice wig on the work in progress head

Alices arms

Alices hand made and distressed using my growing skills in sewing

alice in her box with the camera flash on

and without the flash

Alices top section

And finally alices bottom section

so there we go there is alice so far

She appears to be very shiny. Will she remain so?

That make me feel that the next item in the franchise should be CSI:Steampunk...

hello thanks for the comments the shineyness is from the acrylic paints i used and i am still to do a layer of latex on her that wil give a skin effect then i use talc to take the shine away so to answer your question no she will not remain shiney.
